Movers showed up without tools and dollys. When I provided blankets and shrink wrap to protect my inventory I was told they would add the protection later after my items were removed from my home before being loaded into the POD. I noticed my furniture was getting damaged so I insisted they protect the items before moving them out of my home. Things started off bumpy, but seemed to smooth out after everything was loaded. Then my POD arrived at my new home and my bed is permanently damaged. As well as my TV and desk. I used the same size POD and same inventory when I moved two years ago and my items were loaded with care and no damage upon arrival at my new home. This time, the movers hired to unload the POD took 45 minutes to open the door, all while trying to avoid damaging my TV and painting that was loaded last against the door. The TV unfortunately got damaged, but the painting was spared. My mattress is a pillow top and all the pillow top and springs underneath are shoved to one side and there is also a huge brown stain. I even provided a mattress cover, as well as a TV cover. The loading movers for the first move, a couple years back, loaded my mattress last against the door and there was no damage to any of my inventory. A Plus loaded my fragile items last-against the door and shoved my mattress in such a way that completely destroyed it. I even tipped the A Plus movers on the day of the load because I appreciate hard work and figured everything was ultimately loaded successfully. I wish I would have waited and given all the tip money to the destination movers. They were patient and treated my items with care. Unlike A Plus. I would not use them for moving services again and would not recommend them. I reached out to Anthony to share about my movers at my new home struggling because of the way A Plus loaded the POD, and I got no response. I asked for a refund amount that they thought was fair. Didn't ask for a specific amount. Just what was fair. No response. I felt I had no choice but to file a claim with HireAHelper and update my review.

Hi Nicole,

We’re very sorry to see your review change after we previously worked together to resolve your concerns.

For transparency, this was a labor-only loading service booked through HireAHelper. Our crew arrived with the necessary equipment and completed wrapping and protection of your furniture while you were present and approving the process. All items were padded and loaded with care, and no damages were reported to us at the time the job was completed. You provided no TV box for the television, crew wrapped it in the thin plastic and pieces of cardboard you provided. You also added in things last minute that were not mentioned during the walkthrough, thus creating an unorganized load towards the end of the move.

After the move, you mentioned concerns about equipment and overall satisfaction. Even though the service was completed as scheduled, we issued a courtesy resolution in good faith by comping your third hour of loading and providing an additional $25 credit. Following that resolution, your review was updated to reflect a positive experience.

We were therefore surprised to later see new damage claims raised publicly after an additional discount was requested and declined. Because this was a labor-only load into a third-party POD, we do not transport the container and cannot control handling, transit conditions, or any shifting that may occur after the container leaves the origin. We also cannot control issues such as a POD door becoming stuck after transport.

We always strive to be fair and responsive and believe we handled this situation appropriately and in good faith. We stand behind the work performed on the day of service and the resolution that was already provided. We also have all pictures of the POD loaded as proof of correct loading procedure.

"I had a fantastic experience with A Plus Moving LLC! They arrived on time and were incredibly well-prepared for the job. The team, David and Paul worked tirelessly from start to finish and handled all of our belongings with the utmost respect and care, unloading our belongings and carefully moving them to the locations we asked then to without any damage to items or the stairway etc. They were polite and professional. Moving is usually stressful, but their professionalism made everything go smoothly. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable help!"

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Make sure all items & boxes are clearly marked, ready to go. All entryways are clear for movers to travel through. Any doors are propped as well as elevators reserved for the entirety of the move.

What types of moves have you handled?

We handle all interstate moving labor clients which include: Load, Unload, Piano & Safe moving.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

Traveling throughout the state and meeting new people as well as seeing the various locations known around CT.

What training do you provide your crew members?

All crew members are specially trained in customer service. This entails smooth communication throughout the moving process. They're also adept in the loading/unloading process while also being careful with the transport/carrying of furniture, items.
