I would not recommend, and here's why:

Round 1: The movers were a no show for a 12 p.m. arrival on a Sunday. I called and left a message with Hire a Helper, which took 2 hours for them to get back to me. I was told they were making every effort possible to get a hold of the moving company, but to no avail. I directly called Road Runner and left a message (this was the 3rd party they hired). At this point it was almost 3pm. Finally, someone called me back from Road Runner (can't remember the woman's name). The woman said they were running late and on their way and would be another hour, which was a TOTAL lie. She never got a hold of the movers. It was 5pm, and I called Hire a Helper to see what our options were. They cancelled the Sunday move, and said they would try to find me someone first thing the next morning. We wasted 5 hours sitting around. We finally went home. At 5:30 p.m. I got a call from the truck driver, Pedro, who said their truck had broken down early in the day and just got it up and running and wanted to arrive for 7pm. When I told him I spoke to a woman at Road Runner who said you were on your way hours ago, he was baffled. He said that didn't happen. So she lied. Anyway, it was too late at night. We were moving a 3 bedroom house for goodness sake and I wasn't going to be moving until midnight. Pedro then told me they they could be there at 10am the next morning. So I agreed and figured he would let everyone on his end know, both Hire a Helper and Road Runner.

Round 2: Monday morning I got a call from Pedro that he was there early, and arrived at 9:45 a.m. I was relieved, and on my way (5 minutes out) and told them to hang tight. However, when I arrived, no one was there, no truck, no people! I called him back and he was in another city. He apparently called the wrong number and thought I was the person he was meeting at a different address for their move. He told me that his supervisor said my job was cancelled. I said what??? You and I spoke last night, and I thought you arranged everything with your supervisor to meet me for 10 a.m. He said no, my boss said your job was cancelled. WTF??? I said no, we agreed last night you'd be here at 10am. He didn't want to talk about it anymore, so he hung up on me. I was LIVID!!!

I called Hire a Helper and asked what happened. They said the same thing Pedro did. I explained our conversation, etc. but apparently Pedro didn't talk to anyone on his end. So we were back to square 1 after I made arrangements almost 6 weeks earlier. Hire a Helper said they couldn't get anyone for at least a week out. I was done.

The whole experience was unprofessional and a nightmare, and we wasted two days for help that never arrived. Zero communication from both companies. I would NOT recommend using Road Runner nor Hire a Helper. It was a disaster.

Laborers were energetic and adapted on the fly to any issue that presented itself.

Rough start, I had not received a phone call the day before and therefore could not pass on special instructions.
Driver arrived on time and ready to work, though due to lack of prework phone call special logistics were required on the fly.

Would still recommend though be sure to reach out as the costumer prior to the day of execution.

Mover's response:
I'm glad things worked OK. Thank you!

They did a good job, I took a lunch in the middle, and the time was extended by half an hour, so I was charged for an extra hour, which I was unaware of.

Road Runner Moving exceeded our expectations. They showed up on time and worked exceptionally hard until the move was done. They treated our stuff like it was their prized possessions and made sure that everything made it in the house undamaged. I would recommend them to anyone.

Caution.
My usual company notified us the day before my step dads move. He is 83 & this was a huge deal. We found road runner on the hired help site. Cost was almost $100 more than normal but was last minute. Paid, followed directions, got confirmation everything was set. Day of move get a call the hour before set time, blaming us for being late setting up reservation & canceled us. I called owner got it reset next day. The movers were 2 plus hours late, dead tired and took way to long & left everything a mess in the new location. Caution i know everyone is trying to make it but this was ridiculous. I will not b back. We have done this same move twice and it never took over 2 hours with 2 professional movers.

They arrived within the allotted time frame. They moved everything and even worked through a rain downpour. I would use them again.
