One of the crew members discussed the move and items needed prior to the date of arrival. The crew (Messrs. Darden, Williams and Howard(?)) was a little late in arriving. but demonstrated professionalism and consideration by calling about the delay before missing the requested start window. Upon arriving, one person took the lead, asked necessary questions, came to an agreement internally and discussed with us after a brief survey of the items. They started planning the packing order of the container within a few minutes of arrival. They provided an estimate of the time it would take to complete the job. They carefully with consideration placed the various items explaining they wanted to provide some stability within the container based on their familiarity. It was NOT a throw things in without consideration performance. They finished well within the estimated time given and also before the time we required. The price per mover per hour set by the first/primary party, Moving Staffers, was higher than it should be and would cause us to consider additional estimates in the future. This did not reflect on the quality of service provided by the actual third party packers.

I will start by saying the third crew that came out was awesome however, I had the first two people that showed up who did not know what to do and one said he could not lift heavy items. They were here to move furniture into the Packrat container. The 2nd crew were good at getting stuff out but they haphazardly put items into the containers and had heavy items on top of lighter boxes, squashing the boxes and I won’t be surprised if items are broken when unpack. I had also put in the order that they would need to disassemble furniture which they were not prepared to do and I ended up taking most of the furniture apart. Then the third crew came and unpacked the containers and repacked them with the heavy items in the bottom (I hope) and they were able to fit everything in. There was one guy from the 2nd crew that stayed all day and was very helpful. I would have given them a good rating if it wasn’t for the first and second crew. I was so stressed. I am not sure I will go through Hire-a-Helper again after dealing with this because I don’t know how they determine if a moving company has the ability to pack containers correctly. Additionally, the owner told Hire-a-Helper that he would call me and he never did. The owner did try to make it right by giving an extra hour. I will say the person I dealt with from Hire-a-Helper after sending an email letting them know what was happening was wonderful and she called in the evening to make sure everything was alright.
