We were moving 1000+ miles and had our PODS delivered to our new home. Big Boy movers had two of the three helpers I requested to unload here right on time. One came a little later. But they helped us get unloaded very quickly. I'd give them 5 stars had all three helpers been on time...and we had a couple if items damaged that maybe could have been avoided with a little more care. But overall they were just what we needed to help us get into our new home. I would recommend them and use them again.

Although the two fellows who arrived somewhat past their scheduled arrival time were both courteous and hard working, they failed to bring with them a hand truck or a furniture dolly, which they needed. Because they didn’t use a hand truck, they both tried to carry as many boxes at once as they could. And of course, because of this, one of the fellows dropped a box from the top of his stack of three boxes, resulting in breaking an expensive glazed porcelain baking dish - which I had packed using a good amount of foam and packing paper. I feel frustrated with this loss - but at least it was the only loss.
In any case, it dismays me that any mover would arrive empty handed, without the tools of the trade.

Two hardworking college students loaded our household goods. Couldn’t have asked for better workers. Worked two straight hours non-stop. Highly recommend.

Young boys showed up with little understanding or planning about moving my belongings. My dad has to frequently step in and help the movers lift or arrange things.
In response to your dad frequently stepping in to help, our movers are trained to use their experience and move-specific training to perform the most effective move possible. Additionally, they are trained to work with each customer to help facilitate what the customer wants as far as how things are loaded or unloaded. There appears to have been some miscommunication because the crew was initially directed by you to load as they felt was most efficient but then would receive contradictory feedback from your father as they were loading. When loading a container there is much planning that should go into it and if the crew lead's plan kept being changed to fit how your father thought best then it would look confusing to someone watching that unfold and could definitely come across as someone without a plan.
Again, I am sorry you felt it did not go as you would have liked. We strive to provide the best service possible understanding it is a very stressful time for anyone that is moving. We wish you the best.

I hired two people for a total of 3 hours. PROS: The hired help called me on the way to my location to let me know they were on the way and to make sure that I still required their services. They showed up exactly on time at 7:00am (their arrival window was 7:00-8:00am). When they arrived, they wanted to see my belongings so they could see what was being loaded, where it was located and how much stuff I had. They seemed okay with everything that had to be loaded into the Pod and believed that it would all fit, although the Pod would be completely full. They brought the proper equipment to transport my items from the house to the Pod (dolly, hand truck, lifting straps). The two guys worked steadily the whole time they were at my home and did not take any breaks. My estimated amount of time was perfect and they were done in exactly 3 hours. CONS: I provided the guys with moving blankets, the plastic type "saran" wrap to wrap around furniture to protect it or to help secure the moving blankets for protection, as well as large moving rubber bands to secure doors, drawers, blankets, etc. I was disappointed to see that they did not use anything except the blankets draped over/wrapped around furniture even though I told them a few times to please use the other stuff to make sure the blankets were secure and items were protected. I will not see if there has been any damage to my items for about 6 months since they were being moved from my home in Utah, transported across country to Florida and then put in storage until later this year. I would recommend this service, but I would pay close attention to the items you want to make sure are protected well or pre-wrap them yourself before loading, which is hard to do since you don't know how they will put together the packing "puzzle" of your load. Also, if you really want to know how your stuff is being handled, you have to be 100% available to watch every move. I have done many corporate paid moves with major moving companies and this was somewhere in between a moving company's professional level of service and me doing it all on my own.

Get To Know Us
What can a customer expect after booking with you?
The customer can expect to receive a text confirming the date and time of the job. Through this communication they can also add any additional information that might be helpful such as: heavy items, long walks, specialty items, parking arrangements, etc.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The movers will be on-site within the arrival window given. They will then do a walkthrough of the premises in order to strategize best practices for your individual relocation. They will then go over paperwork and begin the move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Any prep the customer does on their end will quicken the move saving the movers time and, in effect, the customer money. Prep may include: breaking down beds, emptying drawers, clearing a walkway throughout the house, etc. Of course if these things are not done before hand, the workers will willingly do them when they arrive.
What types of moves have you handled?
After so many years in the industry there is nothing we haven't seen. We've done something so small as moving a couple of pieces of furniture to another room to relocating five thousand pound printing presses across town. We've relocated customers from California to Maine and everywhere in between. We can provide packing materials, packing services, loading services, transportation, unloading services, and unpacking services. In short there's nothing we can't do in this industry.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The bet part of the job is seeing the relief in the customers' faces when they see that they don't have to move anything or stress about someone else moving their possessions. it always makes me smile when they visibly relax. Moving doesn't have to be stressful.
What training do you provide your crew members?
The onboarding process for our movers is extensive. Probably the part I like the best about our company is that 100% of our workers are referrals from workers we already have. That means the guys we hire are already vetted by our own employees who would never want to work with someone unreliable or lazy. In fact when we interview a person we already know what kind of work ethic and character he or she has after talking to the person that referred the potential worker. Our workers are as good as it gets.
