They did not cover my furniture, including glass tables. Stacked furniture on top of boxes labeled FRAGILE and I was not able to get all of my belongings loaded in the UHAUL even though Uhaul and the movers said the 20 ft truck was too big for my belongings. I don’t even have enough room for suitcases. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. Not to mention that I was charged DOUBLE for an incomplete job and damaged furniture. Moving blankets were provided but not used. Once we unload the truck tomorrow (which scares me), I will have more pictures of the damage. I was clearly taken advantage of since I was the only person there and couldn’t monitor the truck and my apartment.
I would LOVE to give a 4.7 star rating like those who highly recommended this company on Hire a Helper but apparently, my service was done by a different company, because my furniture wasn’t even covered…. I will be requesting a refund. You cannot treat people like that. UNACCEPTABLE! MBK Movers should either value ALL customers, or find a new line of work.

They were super efficient. Got most of a POD unloaded in just over an hour. We had mostly boxes so it was a lot of trips for them with it all.

We had a very mixed day with Hire a Helper and our experience with the Hire a Helper service was not the best. MBK movers did do a good job. We were moving onto a military base and despite our early communication of that to Hire a Helper and Carlton movers, Our originally hired team, who were supposed to arrive between 10 and 11 to help us unload our truck, one of the two workers was unable to get on the base. The second helper was willing to come but we had items that required a two person team. Hire a Helper then tried to tell me I would still need to pay one of the workers the full amount as he was able to get on the base and so was not a “no show”. After several hours in the phone Hire a Helper scheduled a second crew to come between 3 and 4:00 but stated that the new price would be $150 more than the original price. After questioning this I was told this was my only option. A few minutes later I received another call from Hire a Helper that they found another local mover that could be there between 3 and 4:00 that would be the same cost as the original mover. They assured me that this team would have no trouble getting on the base. Around 3:30 I received a call from the new moving company, MBK that they had underestimated the time it would take to get to us and they would not be arriving until 4:30. 4:30 came and went and no movers. Around 5:30 (it was now very dark and chilly outside) I called them back to ask if they were still coming and the gentleman assured me that his guys were on the way and should be there any minute. Around 6:00 my son and I lost confidence that anyone was coming and started to unload items from the truck. Around 6:30 the two guys from MBK finally arrived. They were very friendly and apologetic about the late arrival. They did work very quickly. I would have liked them to have been a little more careful with the items. Several pieces of furniture were bumped into the ground or the walls but everything made it inside with only minimal damage. Due to the very late start my son unloaded the truck and the helpers carried the items to the front door where I delivered them to the areas that they needed to go. We also assisted them with moving several heavy items as they were having difficulty getting them in alone. Most of the difficulties of the day were NOT the fault of MBK movers and I would recommend them. The other difficulties I would attribute to Hire a Helper. I know things happen and they did arrange for other movers quickly when the original movers had difficulty getting to us but I do not feel they were very accommodating with the original terms of our hire. Our move time was shifted from 10 am to 6:30 pm which wasted and entire day of unpacking and getting settled before starting a new job. They also wanted to increased the price for the movers the day of and made no accommodation for the delays in service. In the end we did get out items moved in, we did very much appreciate MBK movers and their willingness to come day of and help us but on what was an already stressful time I feel like Hire a Helper could have offered MUCH better customer service and support.
