We booked 4 movers with Ferguson Brothers Moving and Trucking. The experience we had was so terrible that we are still having hard time believing that things played out as they did.
As they arrived, and we were explaining where things go one of them was smoking marihuana and did almost no work. He kept disappearing for long stretches of time. Two additional of the remaining three movers kept disappearing as well, but not as often and for as long as he did. There are cameras throughout the storage facility for the front desk to monitor for safety. The facility staff kept seeing most of the movers taking strolls, one at a time, around the facility (it’s a pretty large facility), especially one of them that was just hanging out at different areas.
The movers were moving in slow motion and were so careless, and not trying to help each other that they dropped boxes clearly marked as fragile and items inside broke. The actions of the person who was under the influence of Marijuana made an expensive cabinet break. We witnessed it right in front of our eyes. What I meant in terms of them not helping each other and hence boxes breaking; on two occasions boxes started falling on one of them, there were others there standing and watching. I came running to help that person, and they were just standing and watching. I feel completely surreal about our experience with these movers. I can probably list about additional dozen examples of their unprofessional and careless behavior but being conscious of the length of this note. I will give one last example; They put a mattress half on the floor and half standing (or maybe they put it all standing and it fell). And then they started stacking large boxes on that half-fallen mattress- all crooked . Then they put a mirror leaning on those crookedly stacked boxes. As my husband went to that storage unit- the mirror fell on the floor and the boxes went collapsing on him. Thankfully, my husband didn’t get hurt. The mirror that fell was very expensive, and thankfully, because of the amount of padding, it did not break (as far as we could tell at that moment and feeling shocked over the incidence).
As explained above (and lots more can be added to our awful experience with Ferguson Brothers Moving and Trucking). Three of the four movers that came were completely unprofessional (one of them was great) and caused the damage of items and very long unpacking time.

We hired 2 helpers to pack our POD. They showed up with 3 guys and a mother. They had no handtruck, luckily we fid. I had 2 dozen moving blankets plus. We had boxes and bags with soft items gor stuffing holes. These guys had no clue how to load a truck/POD. They used 2 moving blankets. All the soft bags, and every single dresser or table drawer was left out. The POD was packed so haphazardly not puzzled together, I was terrified my furniture would be a pile of sticks. There was so much room left underneath everything and above (feet of space) obviously less than half our belongings fit. Luckily we only had 5 miles to move. My husband cancelled further help from these people and we paid just to get them gone. We have spent the last 2 weeks moving the left behind items and have more to go. The $ spent on the POD and the hired help was a total waste. I would not recommend Hired Helpers to my worst enemy. They were pleasant enough but CLUELESS. This move has been the worst experience in my life.

Couldn't have asked for a better crew. The four man crew showed up on time and they went to work unloading the 26 ft Uhaul packed from top to bottom back to front, The property was up a steep drive and it was hot out. They placed items where I needed in them in the house and took pride in their work. Great Crew my only regret was not having water on hand when they first arrived as they worked hard. Kudos to Cedric and his team for a fine job.
