Needed a couple guys for a couple hours to load our Penske 16’ moving truck. A few heavy items and then a lot of boxes and loose stuff. They were great, called morning of to give 45 minute heads up, moved swiftly but carefully. Super nice and quite a relief to not have to do the really physical part right before a long drive. Thanks guys, money well spent!

The crew finished the load within the two-hour window, and we gave them each a $20 tip. Despite this, one mover pressured us for an extra $30 cash for "supplies." We had provided professional-grade rubber bands to secure the moving blankets, but they refused to use them, claiming they preferred tape. When I followed up with the company for a receipt, I was ghosted.
Beyond the billing issues, the professionalism was lacking in other ways. Both movers were wearing an overwhelming amount of cologne—as if they had bathed in it. It was so strong that it was difficult to even be in the same room with them. In a service industry where you are working in tight spaces and people have varying sensitivities, that level of fragrance is extremely offensive and unprofessional.
The most significant failure, however, was the packing. We were very clear about which items needed to be loaded last for a local storage drop-off before we left. While they got some right, they wedged several large, essential pieces deep toward the middle of the truck. It was impossible to get them out without unloading half the vehicle, so we were forced to haul them to our new destination.
Since this is a temporary move, our goal was a clean break with nothing but our vehicle and our plants when we eventually leave here. Because we aren't willing to part with these items, we now have the burden of hauling them all the way back ourselves later. Their refusal to follow a simple loading plan turned a one-way trip into a double move. Use them with caution.

This is the second time I’ve used True Life Movers, and Mike and his team killed it again. They showed up right on time to unload my two PODs and knocked it all out in under two hours. Communication was great from start to finish, and their rates are a way better value than other companies I looked at. Super hard workers and easy to deal with. I’ll definitely use them again. If you need moving labor help, these are your guys!
