Gordon Smith of I & O Moving was very pleasant and helpful. He assured me that his people were " professional " ( they were not). I was assured they would be careful with my 100+year old hutch. They were not. The loaders did arrive on time. They loaded our moving van carelessly. Upon arrival in Colorado from Baltimore, the Unloaders were shocked at the way the van was loaded. He said " A 5 year old could do better". And that was the beginning of our nightmare. Boxes marked "heavy" were on top of light boxes crushing them; all the nuts, screws and bolts to our platform bed are missing. Even after my husband asked the loaders in Baltimore to put the nuts, screws and bolts in a plastic bag, which he handed them, then asked to have the bag placed in one of the bedroom dressers. Nope. Nada! Nothing. A $1400 platform is in a pile in our home with no way to put it together. A total loss. The loaders broke the antique hutch glass door while loading it. Again, my husband asked them to wrap it first, nope. The loader that didn't listen, apologized twice for breaking it.
And Roberto Morales from HireAHelper, when working on our claim for the damage, asked for pictures, provided; receipts, provided. Everything he asked for we provided. And what do we get? An email that states since we didn't provide the information requested, ( we did) our claim is denied but they will give me $ 50 if I sign the release on this claim. No! I refuse their " feel good" money and wrote this instead.
DONT hire any business through HireAHelper and DONT use I & O Moving Smiths of Baltimore. Non of these businesses are professional in any way and do not stand behind their services.

Everyone was super friendly and super polite. They didn't pack the moving truck very well though and we had to repack it, things were loose, tv and a lightweight bookcase were laying on top of stuff not secured.
I provided moving blankets and straps, the blankets weren't placed anywhere they would make a difference and they didn't use any straps.
The owner was there at the start and at the completion, he seemed super knowledgeable I just wish he was around the whole time to help train the younger guys how to pack a moving truck safely while utilizing the space to it's maximum potential.
I do accept part of the blame for not checking how things were packed as they were doing the loading. I was busy packing stuff and loading my car. When I did check at the end they had placed the mattress up and I couldn't see behind it so I assumed that everything was solid. So I do accept my part.

Not careful with our furniture or stairwell walls. Many pieces of our furniture have pretty severe damage. When moving the furniture back in, we could not find the hardware to put beds & dressers with mirrors back together. The legs are missing from king bed so we had to elevate it using cinder blocks just to be able to use it.
I sent a text to the contact person I spoke to severaI times on the day of the move asking for the location of the hardware & legs. No response.
We do not recommend due to the lack of careful handling & communication.

The team was very friendly and helpful. They showed up exactly on time and were quick and careful not to ding the items being moved or the walls. They did a great job of keeping me informed of how they were packing things in our PODs and did an excellent job of maximizing use of the packing space. Certainly did a far better job than I could have. Highly recommended, only wish I could have them on the other end in FL to help me unpack!

A+++ movers! I *wish* I had gone with I&O Moving every time I moved in Baltimore - they were hands down the best experience we've had with movers in the area. Gordon and his team were communicative, showed up on time, and finished the job ahead of schedule. We were fully prepared that all our stuff might not fit in the truck we rented, but somehow they magically found a way to make it work. Everything was expertly packed with no space wasted, and 750 miles later when we unloaded, there was no damage. These guys are champs!

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
complete professionalism from beginning to end spectacular customer service, polite, and courteous movers that are always on time.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
nothing but the best all movers have years of experience and aim to please. we start all moves with a phone call prior to your move, giving you an eta and the names of the movers that have been assigned to your job. you will then be advised when they arrive, and your time will not start until they start moving things. you will also be contacted periodically throughout the job to make sure our level of satisfaction expectations are being met.

make sure you know what items will be moved on moving date so movers can effectively plan the loading of your truck. other than that relax and let the professionals make your move smooth.

you name it we have done it small moves, large moves, state to state, local, office, junk runs, we do it all you can count on us for all your moving needs
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The best part about moving aside from the amazing relationships we build with our customers is when we are at the end of the load and the customer comes out to see how much we packed, and how neatly all of there belongings fit into the truck.
