I had requested two professional movers; however, two very young individuals—possibly 18 or younger—and one adult gentleman arrived. When I asked their ages, they claimed to be 20, but they appeared to be high school-aged.
The older gentleman began wrapping items while the younger individuals started loading pre-packed boxes into the truck. I had brought 60 furniture pads and plastic wrap to ensure everything was properly secured, given the 10-hour drive ahead.
While they initially wrapped items as intended, their approach became careless as the day progressed and fatigue set in. Fragile boxes were placed at the bottom, and there was little to no planning in how items were loaded. I had to repeatedly ask them to wrap and protect the furniture, but my requests were largely ignored.
As a result, several boxes and pieces of furniture sustained significant damage. I have raised a clam with Hire a helper and they have yet to reach out to me.
