They arrived a little late due to the weather that day. But once they got to my apartment and got started the moved quickly & swiftly to load my POD. They were careful with all of my belongings, and treated them with care. Very professional, polite & personable. I would use them again.

I appreciate the company for being available last minute as my original movers were a no show. However, they were unprepared... no tape, no tools, no equipment, and no rope. They moved slower than expected; therefore, all items were not placed into the truck. I made suggestions that were not followed, such as removing the legs from the sofa. Legs are now scratched. My dryer was dropped and damaged.

To start off, the men who performed the service are not entirely to blame for my review. I’m happy to see people trying to do honest work.
But the company should be ashamed. If you have people who are willing to work, you should ensure that they are prepared for their job with materials, skills set, dress code etc. These are the things that separate professional movers from a couple of guys as extra hands.
Again, I do not blame the hard working men who showed up to do this job but there were plenty of problems. But to avoid writing a novel I’ll summarize.
1) The men were unprepared for the job. They didn’t have all the tools needed for moving furniture or large appliances. The website said the movers would show up with xyz, including furniture pads. These guys arrived in an Uber with a couple of hand trucks. No straps. No pads. No sliders. Not a single tool to disassemble things. That should have been the first clear sign this was not a professional moving company.
2) they were unskilled. It’s a myth that moving labor is unskilled work. On the contrary. You’re interacting with people’s most personal possessions. I’m not opposed to partially staffing a job with new learners. But you should always include the professionals who we pay for. Including professionals also helps the new people quickly improve their skill levels. Unfortunately, because of the lack of skill they took longer to do simple tasks and were not very organized. For example they struggled to carry a simple mattress.
In the end I had to pay another crew to finish the job. To give context... this was not a large or complex move. Washer, dryer, dining table, sectional, 3 flat pack beds 3 mattresses, 2 child sized dressers. Pretty much everything else in the house was packed and loaded on the truck before these guys arrived. I’ve seen pro movers load much more in 2 hours so I thought for sure these items would be finished.
They did not finish. But after two hours I cut my losses and let them go. I’m pretty sad/disappointed with this company. I feel like I completely wasted my money.
I do hope the workers get paid a decent wage but I have a feeling they probably will not. Pure shame.

SMOOTH MOVERS WAS EXCELLENT AND SAVED THE DAY!! I HAD ANOTHER COMPANY THAT TOLD ME TO LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE AT THE LAST MINUTE AND SMOOTH MOVERS CAME THROUGH! THEY WERE ON TIME, COURTEOUS, QUICK BUT CAREFUL WITH MY BELONGINGS.

First and foremost I used this company because I had a positive experience with them when loading my stuff in NJ. Jimmy and Jay were great! They moved me within an hour. I’m not sure of the dispatcher’s name but he was in constant communication about possible delays and we agreed on an alternate time. I’m really impressed. Great job guys and thanks for bringing equipment to safely move my washer/dryer
