James and his friendly crew were terrific. They were able to rearrange their schedule to fit mine better at a late notice. They were quick and very careful with all our furniture. I would recommend them and will use them again.

Everything was great except at my new apartment (Uhaul needing unloading) the owner surprised me with paper work that stated he charges 10$ extra an hour for 3rd floor and above. (I was on the third floor so 20$ extra) At this point I agreed to the extra charge because I needed my things moved in. He stated that hirehelper didn't have a place to put this extra charge information. Other than that they where quick.

The crew arrived on time and had some very few tools for the job. My wife was put in the place of supervising their work and she reports that they were very lackadaisical, slow, and responsive only when she made herself present and attentive. In other words, they were milking the job for extra hours. This is, I suspect, the main mode of operations of these crews. Work up to the deadline, then charge for overtime. Nice for them. We clients get screwed in the end. There was very little breakage in the load but there was some questionable packing of extremely heavy boxes at the very top of a pile, making the unloading process hazardous and vexing. I had fully intended to follow up on our final move with the same treatment but for many reasons, this service being a part, I will not engage hire-a-helper again in my lifetime. I am going to opt for PODS this next time around.

I highly recommend Holland Real Estate Services. James' communications with me to confirm the engagement was excellent. His team was right on time. They worked really hard as I had already moved the easy stuff. Their work included moving a large heavy sectional sleeper sofa upstairs, which they handled with no problem. I would definitely use HRES again.
