We were disappointed with DeMac Contracting and would not use them again. There was a lack of expertise and my husband had to give instructions on how to unload in a safe manner. The one positive aspect of our experience was the woman who scheduled and communicated regarding the service. She was very competent, but I am not sure if she was with Hire A Helper or DeMac.

I have moved several times over the last 20 years with help ranging from a couple of friends and a truck to full service corporate moves. Moving my personal goods with Demac Contracting has been the single worst moving experience without exception.
I was given a window of 12 - 1 pm for the movers to arrive. At 12:30 I hadn't gotten so much as a text or phone call so I called Hire-A-Helper. I was told that the 2 people on their way to my job simply stopped for lunch and that they were currently on their way. After 1 o'clock came and went with still no sign of them I called back, getting a different person who told me that they had made contact with the movers, they were on their way and that they would give me a call in 20 minutes to confirm they had arrived. 33 minutes later I called once more because the movers still hadn't arrived. I know this because the person told me that they were just getting ready to give me a call and quoted how many minutes ago we had spoken. At that point he dispatch person for the movers was contacted and I was told that 3 MORE people would be sent to assist the 2 who were "still on the way", at no additional charge since they were late.
At approximately 2:15 pm 3 people who looked to be in their late teens showed up outside of my door. Although they looked like neighborhood children showing up to help, at that point I had no choice. I showed them through the apartment, telling them what was to stay and what was to go. I also pointed out the supplies I had purchased for them to complete my move including moving blankets, shrink wrap for the furniture, plus bungees and ratchet straps for the moving crate which the dispatcher recommended that purchase because "the guys will pack your things in thirds inside the crate and can secure it with the ratchet straps so things don't move around". After instructing the movers I moved aside and had to hop on a work meeting as they had arrived far later than planned for.
A few minutes into the packing I was approached by one of the movers and asked if I could move my car out of the garage so that they could leave out of the side door instead of the front door. I grabbed my keys to oblige. As I walked down the stair to head to my car I observed one of the young men dropping one of my packed boxes on the ground and kicking it toward the door (without exaggeration) in order for it to hold it open. He looked up and saw me then carefully picked it up to move it out of my way so that I could get to the garage. The better part of half an hour was spent with the movers grabbing box after box WITHOUT DOLLIES, dropping them and dropping them at the top of the stairs as an assembly line or taking them down to be loaded in the crate first.
The original 2 movers eventually arrived and started grabbing boxes. When they I saw they made it to my furniture I reminded them that I had purchased plastic wrap for the furniture to be wrapped. I was assured that the items that were being taken out without being wrapped were going to be wrapped in the garage just before being put into the crate. Satisfied with the answer (why would I have a reason to believe they wouldn't) I moved further out of the way and continued working.
Approaching the 4 o'clock hour, the last of the items were being taken down to the garage so I followed the young men downstairs, thinking that they were ready to wrap up. I stopped when I saw that the ratchet straps I had purchased and given to them to secure my items in the crate had been set aside and not used. I grabbed the straps, took them to the garage, and inquired as to why the straps hadn't been used. Everyone looked at each other and a young man who looked slightly older than the teens who first showed up answered that my things were so tightly packed that they didn't need the straps.
I looked in the crate, piled high with my furniture, none of which had been wrapped as requested. I watched as items were pulled out, rearranged and put back in to make room for the later items being brought down. It was obvious that no thought or planning had been put into what items were being loaded because they were trying to cram my washer and dryer into remaining space and placing my standalone freezer ON ITS SIDE on top of them to save space so that my 47 inch tv and treadmill could be squeezed somewhere.
I stood throughout the move as these young people joked and cussed and told stories, including making commentary about the fact that at least a couple of them were in training. I saw the carefully packed boxes with detailed instructions carried out without regard to what was inside any of them. I watched them quizzically take things apart, consult Google and eventually someone's father(?) by phone for questions on how to move the washer and dryer.
I was positive before they closed the crate that I will find MANY broken items when it arrives to my destination. I will NEVER use Hire-A-Helper or Demac Contracting again.

DeMac Contracting LLC Moving and Remodeling were on time as scheduled. They unloaded two 16ft containers for me and moved my contents to the rooms I specified. They were very careful moving everything without damaging anything. They even hung my dresser mirror back up for me and put my theater recliner furniture back together for me. They were very kind and courteous and I would definitely use them again and refer them to my family and friends. Great Job!!!

I am so thankful that I hired DeMac Contracting for my move today.
They were very professional, on time, had everything done neatly and were very thorough in the job that they did for me. They were hard workers and very respectful of my belongings. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future.

The workers did a wonderful job! On time and even worked a couple extra hours to finish the loading for us. Very friendly and took good care of our items! I’d recommend them to friends and family! We are very happy with the service they provided.

These guys where great. Busted ass didn’t try to milk the clock. They even offered to move my 16 ft. Palm to the back yard. Think they regretted that later. LOL. But by gosh they got it back there. Amazing people and a job well done. Don’t ever want to need them again. Because if I do it means I’m long gone from this earth and my wife is having them move her to FL. LOL. Just kiddin. Thank you so much guys you have no idea how much I appreciated your help.

The team that was to be at my house for a big job did not show up. So for not knowing they were doing this large house this day they were good. They first had scheduled job to do and then said they would come do mine which I was very thankful for. I would recommend them and again thank them very much.
