I hired a large truck with 4 men to help my daughter move. They came with a medium size truck because they couldn't get the large truck that day. They took two loads because of the smaller truck but when I called Hire A Helper they removed the overtime charges of 2.5 hours and were very honest. These 4 young men worked very hard in triple digit heat. They never stopped. I highly recommend them again.

My condo was a 1200 sq ft home. I had everything packed and ready to be loaded. I expected it to take 1 to 1 1/2 hours to load and no more than 1 hour to unload. The truck wasn't even full. It took 2 guys over 4 hours to load my small condo. We had already reached my 4 hour limit before we took off. I started to load the truck just to get things going. There was just no hustle in these 2 guys. I had hired a truck with 4 guys for my daughter to move on the same day and asked if they could send 2 of them to me to help. I was charged 2.5 hours of overtime. I had thought I wouldn't be responsible to help load and unload but I did and so did my family. I would not use these two guys again. I would use this company again. Now if I want to dispute the 2.5 hours of overtime I have to file a complaint and deal with this. I called half way through the loading process to let the company know what was happening. I kept them informed of my dissatisfaction. I expected them to remove the 2.5 hours of overtime automatically.

Tanner and Drew arrived on time and got right to work. Not all of my things fit in the POD, but they fit as much as they could. They were professional and respectful.

They were on time and worked hard loading my first pod. Then things changed and they got careless and sloppy loading g the second pod. Things that I asked to make a priority didn’t even get in the pod...for a journey out of state no less. They just pretty much decide to wrap up my job without reviewing the status with me or going through the house to deal with any last items. I spent three hours after they left rearranging much of the second pod and getting a lot more loaded in it. They just got lazy and sloppy. I would NEVER use them again.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
The customer can expect to receive a text confirming the date and time of the job. Through this communication they can also add any additional information that might be helpful such as: heavy items, long walks, specialty items, parking arrangements, etc.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The movers will be on-site within the arrival window given. They will then do a walkthrough of the premises in order to strategize best practices for your individual relocation. They will then go over paperwork and begin the move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Any prep the customer does on their end will quicken the move saving the movers time and, in effect, the customer money. Prep may include: breaking down beds, emptying drawers, clearing a walkway throughout the house, etc. Of course if these things are not done before hand, the workers will willingly do them when they arrive.
What types of moves have you handled?
After so many years in the industry there is nothing we haven't seen. We've done something so small as moving a couple of pieces of furniture to another room to relocating five thousand pound printing presses across town. We've relocated customers from California to Maine and everywhere in between. We can provide packing materials, packing services, loading services, transportation, unloading services, and unpacking services. In short there's nothing we can't do in this industry.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The bet part of the job is seeing the relief in the customers' faces when they see that they don't have to move anything or stress about someone else moving their possessions. it always makes me smile when they visibly relax. Moving doesn't have to be stressful.
What training do you provide your crew members?
The onboarding process for our movers is extensive. Probably the part I like the best about our company is that 100% of our workers are referrals from workers we already have. That means the guys we hire are already vetted by our own employees who would never want to work with someone unreliable or lazy. In fact when we interview a person we already know what kind of work ethic and character he or she has after talking to the person that referred the potential worker. Our workers are as good as it gets.
