Specifically hired movers to unload my container because the last thing in the container was my upright piano, which I specified in my order. The HireAHelper system said I needed to hire two guys for my move. Ok so I did. (It took two guys to move the piano into the container when it was packed so I didn’t think anything of it). When they got to the piano, which was the last item in the container, these guys start making excuses why they can’t move it. First they wanted to bring it into the house and wheel it across a wood floor, which every legitimate mover knows you don’t do unless you want to damage the floor. I said hell no. Then they tell me they didn’t bring heavy item straps (which are default equipment for legitimate movers). So how did they think they were going to move a piano that’s stated on the order? Then they tell me they need another person to help pick it up. Funny how when I placed the order for the move, I stated I needed a piano moved and the system recommended I hire two guys for that. Now I needed to hire three guys? Basically what it came down to is they didn’t want to have to move the piano. They didn’t need two guys. I had two guys carry the piano into the container when it was loaded. It was a cop out because they wanted to go home. So basically I paid over $400 to have two guys move a couple of mattresses into my house because honestly I could have just moved everything else. So now I need to hire movers again to move my piano from my garage into my house. Thanks City Movers! Your guys are stellar.

Mover's response:
We are sorry you feel that way. However, the fact is we did not say that we needed three movers to pick the piano up because we did that ourselves with two men and took it out of your pod and placed it into your garage. We said we needed a third mover to get it up your stairs (which you forgot to mention) because your piano was a very old oversized extra heavy upright piano. Much larger than the standard size pianos. As legitimate movers being in this business for 33 years, we know clear as day as well as every other moving company knows that the standard way to move a piano is strapped onto a four wheel dolly. Which is exactly what we did. Now that we cleared that up, your house was a very tiny house with very small corners to navigate around, which made it impossible for that piano to get into your house without you having to take down the porch railings. In which case holding that piano up that high on the stairs to get a straight shot into your house will require a third guy. We’re sorry that your house was simply built too small to navigate your huge piano in there, but we did move your piano with no problem at all whatsoever where it would fit. Have a great day!

This is the second time this month that I've used Citywide Moving to help pack a Pod. The team was friendly and efficient. I will continue to use them.

The gentlemen from Citywide Moving did a fabulous job! They reorganized my POD to maximize space and, between that and my rental cargo van, managed to get everything loaded, including some items I thought I’d have to leave behind. I had certain things I needed in the cargo van, to have access to during the cross-country drive and once we arrive at my new house, since my PODs won’t get there for another week. I highly recommend these guys for their skills in moving large items and organization.

Citywide moving did everything I needed them to do. They moved all my stuff from the garage to POD and packed it very neat and carefully. They were polite and on time. They worked hard and worked until the job was done. I highly recommend them.

Citywide Moving was outstanding. They were on time, handled our items with care, and were amazingly efficient with their packing of the pod. I will be using them again.

The crew came unprepared with no supplies for packing. I provided all the packing materials including packing blankets to protect my leather furniture, which they did not use. Consequently, my leather couch and chairs were damaged, and other fragile items were broken. My items were poorly placed into the POD, with loose heavy items placed on top of loose fragile framed art, which was broken upon arrival of the POD. Furniture pieces that were disassembled were not placed together, and the hardware to reassemble was not with the furniture. Other fragile items were broken due to being placed into the POD without being packed in a box or wrapped. Other items were scratched. There was glass from broken pictures all over other items.

Showed up on time, well equipped. Worked well but were pretty slow, took them as long to unload as it did for the other company to load. This caused an additional hour of charges to the job.

I would highly recommend this company! They did a fabulous job in packing my pod and even tho there was way more than would fit, they tried their hardest to make it so. They packed every inch of a 16 footer. Very professional, very kind workers.

Great group of guys that work smart and efficiently. They were able to maximize the limited space in our POD while packing up and took extremely good care of our fragile items and furniture.

This was money well spent. Darrel, Angel and Carlos did a fantastic job unloading our POD and moving all our stuff into our house. My wife and I were amazed at how they worked through 98 degree weather to get boxes and furniture out of the storage unit and up two flights of stairs into our home. They treated every item as if it was their own and did a great job navigating stairs and corners. Nothing was damaged and there were no marks on the walls. And best of all, their hard work saved my wife and I several "discussions" that would have taken place. :)
