We used Robles for 2 purposes. First to pack. Second to load. The packers were mediocre at best. We thought they would come prepared to work, be careful with our belongings, and work hard throughout the day. Of the four, the supervisor am was good and one worker was good. One was average abd the last was a problem. They texted each other all morning. Items were boxed but not wrapped. The immaturity was obvious. All four were from Columbia and spoke no English but the plan wasn't to get the job done, it was just to be there for X hours and leave.
Our bill was supposed to be for 5 hours of work for 4 men. They took 7.5 hours to pack us. The labor bill wad high and the packing materials was close to $400. They ran out of materials 3x and instead if driving 1 hkur to their warehouse, I suggested they go to Walmart or Lowe's.to keep working. They then tried to pass the costs through to us.
Our packers worked much harder. They did a good job but they pack you by room. As you ner the end, we find our grandchildren toys loaded, but our expensive items ...there was not enough room. There was little planning or forethought.
You as the owner need to understand that their estimates are rubbish. You need to guide the job, they are not. It will take more PODS space then you think. They must use every cubic inch of space or you will be filling a trailer at the end for the items that didn't make it in the POD. You need to put aside every item less than $50 and replaceable to get a better experience. If you are lucky and it all makes it in, great. If not, at the end, you are deciding what to load and what to throw away as you are out if space.
PODS won't tell you the all in cost. Robles was given 98 blankets that I rented from PODS to wrap furniture. Unbeknownst to me, they "sold" me 35 more at $12/blanket without asking...another $400+.
I would use them again now that I understand the game. I'm not sure they are better or worse than others. Our packers I would definitely use again but I eouldnhabe me more involved in the process. The language barrier made it difficult. The manager was not forthright until the bill came. Then he broke out the lengthy contract to justify the bill. Not OK

There were a lot of broken pieces of furniture (wheels and pieces that hang off broken off) and even the unloading movers said the pods were poorly packed and things were just thrown in. I had to ask several times not to put stuff on boxes labeled fragile or specific pieces of furniture, but they did anyway. They also do NOT wrap anything, I had to try to wrap furniture as they packed and most of my stuff (desks, tables, side tables, leather couch) came out scratched. These guys cared only about packing fast and not well and I wish I caught how much was broken or going to be scratched up before they left. I even provided bubble wrap and they had plastic wrap but still wrapped nothing.

They showed up on time and did what we asked. There was a scratch on my new doorway casing that we noticed after they left. All else went fine.

The two movers that showed up were nice and personable but did not speak English. We could not communicate what needed to be loaded and what didn't, so some objects that should not have been loaded into the POD were loaded and we couldn't explain that the POD needed to be loaded from floor to ceiling. The movers were attempting to use Google Translate but it was clearly not an ideal situation. They did not properly load the POD from floor to ceiling in the back, so now we have to redo the second half of the loading that they did in order for everything to fit without shifting during shipping.

This is my second time using this aweeeeeesome company. Customer service was grrrrrrreat. The communication was fantastic. Yes, I would recommend them to help you with all your moving needs. They also assisted me with my loaders/un-loaders, those two guys did a fantastic job.

The only issue I had was after they left I found two areas in my walls I had knocked in and there and they weren’t ever there before it had to have been related to the Movers. That’s not good. It cost me a lot of money to fix.
