Citywide Movers showed up within 15 minutes of when they said they would, and then they loafed for the next 3.5 hours. I have hired moving labor help multiple times in the past and by comparison I was dissatisfied with the help I received from Citywide. They took a 15 minute smoking break during the 3 hour job after 2 hours of “work”—maybe this is normal, but to me it seemed like they were milking the clock.
Both movers spent noticeable amounts of time on their phones while on the job. One of them asked me twice if I had phone chargers so he could charge his phone. This is unacceptable and unprofessional.
One mover spent most of the time standing in the moving pod shoving items into place without any regard for labels like “this side up” or “fragile.” While I was helping carry my belongings I also had to correct this mover to not put boxes in upside down and not place things like my boxed electric bike or TV “up on end.” The customer should not have to repeatedly remind the movers to follow written and spoken instructions.
One point I found especially frustrating was when I was helping a mover get a leather recliner out the front door. He had it on a dolly and was trying to force it through. He asked me if I had cardboard to slip between the doorframe and chair so he could force it without tearing the leather. I told him I would carry it myself and he scowled condescendingly at me.
Bottom line: the movers got the job done in more time than was allocated. When the moving pod gets to the destination, I can only hope my belongings are unbroken. If you have another choice for movers, I’d consider something other than this company.

Citywide Moving is a great team!! They were on time, worked very hard and overtime in a strenuous situation, and were consistently positive, friendly and communicative. I had not ordered enough pods for the move, resulting in more time to make careful decisions about what was going and what was not. They were supportive and helpful throughout this difficult decision-making process. They also handled some tough furniture like an upright piano and a sleeper sofa, I highly recommend them for any demanding moving job.

They showed up drunk. You could smell the alcohol. At least one of them continued to drink throughout the job and after unloading my POD weeks later I have realized they stole a collector water pipe from me worth over $200. So of course I cannot prove it or get reimbursed.

Excellent job unloading a uhaul for us. They were 45 minutes late (service did call us to notify) so we enednup doing alont of the work on our own because we were on a time crunch. Otherthan being late-they were excellent . & yes would hire again.
