Please note this is my experience and that I could have missed something in the fine print. As we all know moving is a very stressful event know matter how prepare you try to be. After securing my PODS contract I asked for recommendations on who could help with packing and loading. There were 3 recommendations and I chose Hire Helper. Mike Moves Pittsburgh was the 2nd group selected, since my move date had changed and the original group could not make the new date. To me, although Hire Helper explained everything, I honestly thought it was the same as what I had requested with the first group. To my surprise it was not. There was a clause that stated 1 hour of packing (different rate) the rest was spent loading with a minimum of 3 hours and 4 hours maximum anything over 4 hours would be considered overtime maximum 2 hours. I was under the impression that I could have the team assist me with whatever I needed help with during the 4 hours. That was not the case, and the Helpers quickly pointed that out. I didn't agree, I called Hire Helper and explained the situation in the hopes of clarification. Hire Helper agreed with me, I explained to the Mike Moves Pittsburgh team, that was NOT their understanding but agreed to help me with what I needed. At that point the environment was a little tense (just my feeling). The guys worked for 3 hours and then I released them understanding that was the minimum hours I had to pay, but that wasn't the companies understanding. They charged me for the 3-hour minimum plus the 4-hour at the hirer price even though they only worked 3 hours. As I stated, I could have missed something in the fine print or in the conversation with the Hire Helper Agent, but I thought it was extremely unfair to charge the higher rate when I met the 3-hour minimum. What they charged me was 3 hours normal rate and 1 hour the packing rate instead of 2 hours normal rate and 1 hour packing rate to make the 3 hours t they worked and it was the minimum. I did voice my concerns to Hire Helper, but they said, "I paid for 4 hours, and the company doesn't give refunds". Just please use my experience to read the fine print.

I’m still amazed at their perception to see what we had to load and be able to make it work, right to the roll-up door. These guys are outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone. Also, the communication from Mike was second to none.
