A really good crew. D'won showed up on time, his two other team members did not (a glitch in scheduling, management called to apologize and said help was on the way). D'won worked two hours loading and made good progress. The other two guys showed up and really got things to the next level. They worked extremely hard, and were very respectful and pleasant to work with. A very productive day.

Used them to load a container. They were on time and started the work nice and handled the fragile items well. However, they did not stack the items efficiently leaving large unused spaces in the container. Finally, they were trying to leave the place without moving one of my furniture reasoning it won't fit. However, I rearranged and ended up placing the final furniture in the container myself.

SMF was contracted to unload our 28' freight trailer into a storage unit using a ramp from the trailer to the raised floor of the storage unit. They were supposed to arrive between 9-10 am. I received a call that workers no-showed and that they would be late. They showed up about 10:25 (we had been waiting at the storage unit since 8:30 am).
We had some heavy pieces to unload and it was very hot that day. The two man team got to work and started moving things to the storage unit (I believe Silberio is the owner of the company, and he brought a young, inexperienced worker with him). Things started out okay and they maximized space knowing that it was going to be a challenge to get everything inside the unit. As time passed, they were getting hot and tired and not utilizing space as carefully. They dropped several pieces of furniture in the truck, and broke 2-3 bun feet off of an armoire because they pushed it instead of lifting it. We don't know what other damage we will ultimately find when we unload the storage unit. Towards the end they were obviously eager to leave and didn't get as much in the unit as they could have. My husband and I loaded the rest into the unit and overflow went into our truck.
Overall, they were nice, but not professional. The young man had on Crocs, or something similar. He was tall and strong and that helped. Would I use them again? No.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The customer should try to have all boxes properly sealed, dresser drawers emptied if possible. have boxes staged in one location, also to have all needed materials such as moving blankets , shrink wrap and tape.
What types of moves have you handled?
My company has handled various residential moves, long distance ,storage units ,ABF trailers, loading and unloading of PODS ,and office relocation.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
My favorite part of being a mover is helping people eliminate the anxiety that's comes on moving day.
