Was supposed to have four guys for four hours. Two showed up at the appointed time while the other two showed up two hours late. Because I had eight total hours, the two on time I was going to let go after their four hours were up and the the two who showed up two hours late I would use them for their four hours, dismissing them two hours after the first two’s time had elapsed. Upon notifying the owner, he stated that all four would stay until later that afternoon. What he did not say and what we did not agree upon was the rate of pay for the additional hours. I assumed there would not be an additional charge seeing half of his laborers were two hours late, throwing off the entire job. What he did after the job was complete was attempt to charge me nearly double the rate. Now, had that been agreed upon, no problem; but it was never mentioned until he sent me a bill. I have a real problem with this. Normally, charges are discussed prior to billing, not upon billing, and he told me they would stay until such and such a time, which led me to believe that since he was initiating the extended time, it was covered already. No additional cost was mentioned at that time. I felt like he was trying to be slick and refused the additional charges, as he had unilaterally decreed his workers would stay longer. That is on him. After I paid the agreed upon bill, he sent me a series of very demanding texts. After I explained it to him, he persisted. I told him not to text me anymore and that I had paid what we had agreed upon, not that which he decreed. I then called Hire-A-Helper and explained the situation to them. After hearing me out and agreeing with me that a contractor cannot unilaterally change the terms of the agreement and then make a post-facto demand for payment, they told me he would not be contacting me anymore. It is regrettable that people entrusted to deal honestly and with integrity would resort to such measures.
They where scheduled to help load my truck arrival time in-between 12-1pm. They didn't arrive until 2pm which by then we had all but three items left to load. They did help unload which took no time at all, so I paid for two hours but got maybe 45 minutes of labor. If they would have arrived on time they would definitely have 5 starts because they are fast. But they were an hour late.
The movers showed up on time, but unfortunately they caused minor damage to my couch. The company provided me with the information needed to submit the claim so that was appreciated.
The crew called ahead and arrived a few minutes early.
They introduced themselves and went right to work.
Our furniture, boxes, and other stuff were carefully placed where we wanted.

They were extremely considerate and cautious with both loading and unloading my items. Great communication! They were even willing to help me mount my TV but unfortunately I didn't have the correct installation equipment. They went above and beyond in my opinion.

Ryan and Lando were phenomenal they made due with what was given and when I say they packed our truck to the tee! I could not be more grateful for those two gentlemen. They came well equipped with everything needed to move furniture and boxes. They were respectful and kind and are they type of movers that I as a servicemember can appreciate due to having people from past businesses rush and not perform according to standard. These are some phenomenal guys that came out for us in a time of need. Thank you a million times over!
Scratched walls, broke back of desk, and 1 1/2 hour later than booked. They did not stay the whole time because we started unloading without them. Said tardiness due to traffic… pictures of damage taken.

Concerning the Hampton, Virginia end of the trip, the gentlemen were very nice and friendly and very hard-working. They appeared to be a little inexperienced in loading trucks, But the important thing is, I got everything to the other end undamaged. Concerning the Zephyrhills, Florida into the trip, again, the gentlemen were very nice, friendly, and very hard-working. They took great care in unloading everything and didn’t hesitate to do anything I asked, including giving me help putting a few things together. I would rate the Zephyrhills Florida part of the trip five stars.
