IN RESPONSE TO CAROLYN G : I arrived at the customers home in between the scheduled time from 8/9am to explain that we were short a man and to see if there was anything 1 man could do until one of the other workers was free from their morning work. After observing the logistics of the unload, it was determined that 2 people were needed to not damage the items I could see from the back of the truck. The only elevator was very small with a door that closed quickly and couldn't be locked>

After arriving over 6 hours late the owner arrived with a bad attitude. My husband and son in law got the couch up to the 6 the floor as well as the headboard. The owner continued talking about how he told me things wouldn't fit, really poor customer service. He had no desire to try to maneuver or use spatial ability to get things on the elevator. His communication skills were poor. He told me he wasn't going to risk his back to carry anything up any steps. This was a very bad experience.

CONTINUED FROM ABOVE : for moving. We don't take risks to the
furniture when we move and the customer said it was ok to come back. She said it would give them time to clean before moving the furniture in. The minute Mike was available, we went over immediately to start unloading. The job was started and the large headboard and the white sleeper sofa were uncovered quickly. After trying to put the sleeper sofa in the elevator with no luck we explained to the customer that items wouldn't fit and t

They were not only on time but came early due to completion of a prior job. They got my Pods container 16' unloaded within the 2hr min into a third floor apartment. Was very impressed with their diligence and dedication to the task at hand. Would highly recommend Smart Moves and will use them again in the future.

CAROLYN G PART 3 : every way possible to make it in with her there watching. No luck. The customer did not want to pay additional for us to tote the items up 6 flights of stairs so they elected to remove the sleeper part of the sofa up and carry the couch up themselves while we continued to work. It took them almost an hour to move just the couch(this job was scheduled for 3 hours and went over the prepaid time). Customer didn't want to pay for extra time and wanted bunk beds assembled which is

Jon and Mike did an awesome job of unloading my two 16 ft. Pods. They were on-time, courteous and super careful with our possessions. They definitely busted their butts and made moving into our new home seamless. I have had too many moves during a 30 year military career and Smart Moves were the BEST of any mover I have had during a PCS. Thanks Jon and Mike! I highly recommend Smart Moves!

CAROLYN G PART 4 : very time consuming. Now getting to the headboard, the couch wouldn't fit in there, the headboard didn't even have a remote chance(even forcing it in there wouldn't work). Customer asked what the best way to get it to the apartment would be. I explained that the only to get that headboard to her 6th floor apartment safely would be to wrap it in blankets, then wrap it with plastic wrap and they would need more than 2 guys to get it up there. CAROLYN G PART 5 : She didn't want to pay for what is clearly stated in our policy about stairs or even the additional time it would take. We move huge headboards all the time with a smile. In the 10+ years I have been in the business, I have never seen someone cut their headboard in half with a saw, but they did and It still had to be forced into the elevator. This customer was asking the impossible and expected us to work for free I guess. After efficiently and flawlessly unloading their truck

This is proof that you can't make everyone happy and this review is unfair, inaccurate and should be removed. Our previous reviews speak for our diligence and focus for every single job.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Rent plenty of moving blankets. When you think you have enough, get another dozen. Moving blankets are in expensive to rent from Uhaul. Only $10 a dozen to protect your items.

We have done literally everything.

We can always stay at least 1 hour over the prebooked time.
