Smart Moves Company was incredible! They performed the fastest unloading of a full 28 foot trailer that we have ever seen or heard of.
Let's face it....moving is a terrible thing. It is such hard work and stressful to relcoate everything you own. Therefore, having a team of movers to help you unload is what will make you, or break you. Smart Moves made our unloading experience a breeze! We did not know how many people or hours to order. We ordered 2 people for 3 hours. Despite the fact that we had enough furniture and boxes to justify a 5 man crew for 5+ hours, our actual team was only 2 men from Smart Moves. These two men worked so hard, they never took a single break, they never stopped moving. They unloaded orderly and we directed them where to put stuff (couches, etc.). It was a very smooth process and done in only 3 hours.
We needed this....we were mentally and physically exhausted from our entire relocation from Saint Louis. We had just completed a 14 hour drive because we were pulling a large boat and had to drive slow.
Therefore, when Smart Moves showed up on time and even called prior to their arrival to say they were on their way....we got the help and support we desperately needed.
They were equipped with tools and without question, they put our furniture together, they properly attached mirrors to dressors, they screwed the bed frames together, they placed the box springs and mattresses on every bed. (by this time, we could not wait to sleep in our own bed after sleeping on floor for 10 nights). Smart Moves understood this and they did not leave until they knew that we had our bed back to sleep on and all essentials put back together like large dining room table and its legs. They went beyond their duty to please us.
In 12 months, we move again when our house is done being built. You can guess who we are going to contact!! Smart Moves will be our number 1 company to come and help us pack up our house again, load it on to one of their trailers/trucks, drive it to new house and unload it just like they did for us recently on September 28th, 2018.
As a matter of fact, we already booked them for October 1st, 2019.

The second crew was amazing. The white guy from the first crew made the move a little more stressful than it needed to be. We drove from St Louis starting at 2am assuming enough time to arrive well before 5pm but the truck would only go 65 MPH and traffic in Nashville delayed -- we had no stops for food - just for gas.

Jon and Samuel were great especially considering that I had inadvertently scheduled them for 9 PM instead of AM and called when I thought they were late. They rushed to get to my job even though it was my mistake.
They were very courteous and respectful worked hard and handled the job professionally.

The job was bigger than I predicted, yet Brian and Kent moved and hustled for the additional hours. It was a hard 5.25 hours. The care for my belongings and the home was first on their list of concerns. Brian and Kent packed my 26ft. truck expertly and secured the load best ever. I would definitely use Hire A Helper again as they have flawlessly integrated the convenience of your cell phone with their customer service making the whole process perfect. 5-Stars for sure.

Rent plenty of moving blankets. When you think you have enough, get another dozen. Moving blankets are in expensive to rent from Uhaul. Only $10 a dozen to protect your items.
