Broke one chair, and complained but loaded all my stuff and unloaded it at storage in 2 hours. Overall did exactly what I needed them to do.

They were late the day of service, booked them for 2 hours they provided 1 hour of service. I was told the owner of the company sent them to do my job and told them they only had an hour from the start as he had triple booked in my area and had been running late all day he moved them to the last job without completing mine. I guess this is how business is done in the South when dealing with black people. They packed 1/2 of the rental truck, left it in the middle of the parking lot and did not inform me and went to the next job. I did not find out about the situation until a day later. I spoke directly with the owner with a hire a helper representative on the phone with us and was assured the crew would return on Sunday to finish the job. I had to listen to the owner's tirade about how much it is costing him to send a crew 1.5 hours away from where they are based to do my job meanwhile he had booked 3 jobs in my area. I had to pay for 3-4 days of truck rental because of this and they could careless about the added expense they were placing upon me. The crew did not show on Sunday as promised! I had to pay double the moving costs. They came on Monday pretending to be oblivious to the fact they had to finish the job on Sunday. They packed the remainder of the truck and did quite a poor job in maximizing the space. They put things in the truck haphazardly. They requested drinks as well, which is not my responsibility but being a human being I provided them with something to drink. The lead mover rocked one of my bookcases back and forth until it collapsed in pieces before my eyes; it will cost me about $150 to replace it again at my expense. When they finished packing my belongs into my storage unit they did not maximize the space they had; the unit was 10X13, more than enough space to hold all my things and then some. When it was all over, the lead mover bullied me into tipping them I was out an additional $60. The total move cost me about $600 which was more than double what I was originally quoted. They were the worst crew I have ever used and I am relieved I do not have to use them again. I would not recommended this service to my worst enemy. I am disgusted by the entire experience and I am highly doubtful that I would recommend hire-a- helper to anyone.
