Nick and his Associate were absolutly the best! Nick communicated with us well before the move. They were very polite. Showed up early, worked extremly fast and took very good care of all our belongings. They set up our furniture, office, helped move items in our new house that had nothing to do with the move. We could not have asked for better people. If all of the aspects of a move went as well as this piece, the whold thing would be easy. Hire Nick, you will be happy you did.

Nick and Stan were amazing! They arrived on time, were very fast and very careful with everything they did. It was apparent from the minute they started that they were professional and knew what they were doing. Not only did they work quickly and carefully, they were friendly as well. They took great care of my furniture and of our new floors. They assembled the furniture quickly and obviously knew what they were doing. I also appreciated that they took the time to ask where to put things and to clean up. I couldn't have asked for a better situation. I will absolutely use them again in the future. I would recommend Nick & Sons and Stan to anyone looking for fast, efficient, careful & friendly movers.

We used Nick & Sons for a local move, and we were very happy with the service they provided. They were recommended to me by a friend who had used them twice and had good experiences with them both times. The quote I received from Nick was considerably less than quotes I received from other movers (more than 1/3 less), so I decided to use them on the strength of my friend's recommendation. Nick is very enthusiastic and is easy to reach with questions. We did an in-town move of everything we own. He provided us with all of the packing materials beforehand. We packed our own things, except for fragile items. On the day of the move, Tarcio came early by himself to help us pack the fragile items (suggested by Nick to minimize cost). Once that was done, the rest of the crew (Nick, Nick, and Ron) showed up to disassemble our furniture and load the truck. These guys definitely know what they are doing -- each piece of furniture was thoroughly padded with blankets or shrink-wrapped, and they took extra special care of more fragile/valuable pieces. The crew was hardworking, and Nick kept everything moving at a brisk pace. When things were being unloaded into our new place, they asked where to put things and spent time helping us arrange our furniture. One of our pieces of furniture had been damaged in the past before the move, and Nick even helped us fix that to the best of his ability. At the end, the price I paid was the price I was expecting to pay based on his quotes. To be fair, the process wasn't completely seamless -- when packing our fragile items, Tarcio didn't bring enough packing materials with him, so I had to go and buy some more myself. And a few pieces of furniture did get a little dinged, but less so than I have experienced in previous moves (nothing was broken, including our fragile items). I used hire-a-helper to unload a 10 foot moving van. My posted job request said explicitly that I was unloading a moving van into a fourth floor apartment with no elevator. I hired two movers for two hours. They were contracted to arrive at 2:00pm. Everything before the move was extremely professional, including a phone call 20 minutes after booking online to confirm and another phone call the day before the move.
At 2:00pm, they called me and said they couldn't come until 3 because their previous job went long. Fine, because my girlfriend and I were still buying furniture. Then at 3, they called and said 4:30. The foreman told me, "But we're bringing a third guy, so we'll be quick!" Great. Then at 4:30, they called and said 5:30-6.
So not off to a great start.
They arrived sometime between 5 and 6, and when they got here they worked like champs unloading my van - including a very heavy couch. We served water and lemonade and we had a good rapport. On your way to a great review.
Then, the foreman pulls me aside and says something like, "Look, there's no way that only two of us could have unloaded your things in 2 hours. You're getting 3 movers. So, because it's fair, we want to charge you for the two of us for a second hour."
What?
I told him: first, you purposefully made it sound like the third person was a "bonus" for you being hours late; second, if you want to charge me for three people, you have to tell me before you start moving things, so I can decide if I want to pay more; and third, if there had been things left in the truck after two hours, I would have moved them myself. That's why I only hired two movers for two hours.
I ended up providing a generous tip (which I hadn't planned on doing), but I think that despite the really great work these guys did actually moving things up four obnoxious flights of stairs, it's extraordinarily unprofessional to (a) be hours late, and (b) try to hustle me for more money at the ve
