Cecil and Marquis (forgive me is I misspelled his name) were great, especially for their company being a “last minute” option for my move. The original company I hired through Hire a Helper cancelled, and a representative called me to schedule with Affordable Professional Movers instead. I was fed up with being cancelled on but I didn’t have many other options as time was limited for me getting my stuff from Point A to Point B.
Cecil called the day prior to confirm details about my move and inform me that him and his partner would be finishing up another job before mine which could impact their arriving on time. That was very considerate of him. It was better communication than the moving company I originally scheduled on here. During the call, Cecil answered all of my questions and left me feeling reassured.
The morning of, Cecil and Marquis arrived within the allotted window of time ready to work. The got my 1BD apartment loaded into the UHaul and unloaded into my new apartment in 2 hrs, as originally planned. This included disassembling and reassembling my bed frame. Both men were professional and pleasant to interact with. They were open to recommendations about packing procedure and handled my things with care. At the end of the day, I was so relieved when my stuff was finally moved!

The actual movers were supposed to be here between 8-9am but someone cancelled in the middle of the night and they had to get the second guy so they arrived at 9:30. I found out when i called to inquire at 8:45. The movers themselves were fabulous. Very efficient and didnt get any marks on any of the walls even! Nice job! I would recommend them and just be sure to touch base with Hire a Helper the day before and confirm arrival time.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
On moving day we like to be prompt and get right to work. We can often be flexible around changing schedules, as trucks and closing dates often have changes or delays.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
To prepare for moving day, make sure you have enough furniture pads, straps or rope, equipment/tools, etc. We provide some of these things, make sure to communicate with your movers about what is included and what you need to provide.
What types of moves have you handled?
We handle internal moves (relocating some items within the house), local, long distance, office moves, pods, containers, trucks, etc.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
I love being a mover because we meet a lot of interesting people. From football stars to your friendly neighbor next door, we meet lots of new and interesting people.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Each of our crew have over a decade of experience in the industry. We are a small group and keep it small on purpose, we don’t expand and hire more movers for more jobs, we keep it small to ensure top quality service, over quantity of jobs / crews working.
