These guys are the worse. They come and want to leave as soon as they get there but expect to be paid for all the hours. They left without completing the job and then the owner does not answer his phone. This is the 2nd time using them and all I can say is BEWARE you will not get your monies worth.

Movers did not show up on time. When I contacted them they advised that workers did not show up and tried to schedule for another day. After I complained, owners daughter and one laborer showed up to move my things. My partner had to help the movers so essentially we really only had one mover not the two movers I prepaid for. Movers dropped my dresser causing drywall damage and paint damage in my stairwell. Movers promised to repair damage and it has been over a week.

I was a repeat HireAHelper customer after a great past experience in PA. Now living in FL I used them again but had a rough experience during a recent move. The subcontraced labor group was Southern Cross in Ft Myers who is not reliable. My original order was for 4 helpers for up to 4 hours arriving by 8am. The evening before the move I received an email from HireAHelper at 5:48pm that only 3 helpers would now be coming. The next morning nobody arrived by 8am and I began calling to find out if anyone was coming. Nobody answered the phone at Southern Cross or HireAHelper (they are on Pacific time). I finally received a call back around 8:45am telling me the 3 person crew was on their way for 9am arrival. At 9:10 nobody had arrived so I called Southern Cross again to have nobody answer. The 3 person crew finally arrived at 10am and provided some of the help I needed for 3 hours. At 1pm the crew handed me the job completion paperwork, even though I still had work to be done. They mentioned nothing about the hour still remaining on my agreement. The paperwork said they only worked 3 hours and, given they were no longer engaged in my project, I signed it and let them leave assuming I would not pay for the 4th hour. The HireAHelper agreement implies the 4th hour is a flexible extra hour if needed. Southern Cross then charged for all 4 hours claiming the fine print in the ageement lets them do this. I have tried to contact Southern Cross via phone and email numerous times about this overcharge and they will not answer or respond. I am pretty sure they are screening my number and not answering on purpose. I tried to get help through HireAHelper directly and they claim it is up to the local company to help resolve this. After Southern Cross failed to work with me HireAHelper stepped in to support me and get my situation resolved appropriately. Beware of Southern Cross Moving in Ft. Myers as they are not dependable or trustworthy.

I had paid for 2 men for 3 hours, when the men got there they said they were told to unload l container. When I told them I paid for 3 hrs they said they couldn’t because on their sheet it had unload 1 container (which was half emptied since my husband, son & myself had unloaded the day before). We hired these people because my husband is not in good health and couldn’t do heavy lifting. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!! Thieves and liars DO NOT USE THEM!

Mr. Baskin and Mr. Cordel did a wonderful job of packing our pod. They listened and did what was asked of them. They were polite and kept the movement going. They actually finished a little earlier, but that just showed the hardwork and effort they put into the move.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Upon booking us we will reach out with a courtesy call upon accepting your order and getting details about your move.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
If booking a morning job the guys will call when leaving the shop with gps arrival time. If afternoon arrival we will keep the customer up to date with the crews progress on current job.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Box up all miscellaneous items such as lamps, pictures and small items. If needed we can supply packing materials and labor. Make sure they have all personal items they need for their trip put aside.
What types of moves have you handled?
We travel all over the U.S.A and have loaded shipping containers to go all over the world. If it needs to be moved we can get it there, worldwide.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part about this business is helping people that don't have the time or physical ability to do it themselves. I hear from a lot of our customers how they moved themselves so many times but are just to old to do it anymore. That is we come in for their first experience with paid movers to show them how stress free it can be at an affordable price.
What training do you provide your crew members?
All crew members are ran through a wrapping and loading class at our warehouse before going on their first job. Proper technique on wrapping furniture to minimize damage and then loading of trucks,pods, and storage units.
