These guys were excellent. They were called in at the last minute because my scheduled movers were a no show. They were extremely courteous and very polite. They asked where I needed items placed and went right to work. They were done unloading in an hour and handled my items with great care. I highly recommend them. Definitely 5 stars just like their name.

They worked hard but they did not wrap my furniture appropiately. My white sofa skirt dragged on the truck floor and there is dirt all over it. Thankfully it is a slip cover and can be cleaned? They were on time, they worked hard.

Brian and KP were exceptional workers. It was a very hot day and they never gave up. We underestimated our need for their employ. Both gentleman stayed an extra 2 hours (on a moments notice) to finish the job. Their packing experience showed well. Nothing was broken and the load didn't shift during the move. Would I use your firm again? Absolutely.

I don't complain at all. I am today... First, the movers showed up at 10:15am instead of the 9am appointment. No big deal.... I run late myself sometime. Second, one of the movers you could smell alcohol coming from his pores and his mouth and the had holes in their shorts as well as their underwear was showing.. Lastly, They brought 1 dolley to unload 2 trucks and they tried to charge me for 3 guys when I only hired 2 with HireAHelper..
Overall they got it done.. I guess thats the main objective...

Did an unload of 16 ft pod in timely manner. A couple items were in the wrong place, even though boxes were clearly labelled. They were also about 25 minutes late to start the job. Other than that, though, a good pro job and I'd hire again.

They showed up on time. Did a great job loading our Uhaul and being careful with our items. They worked hard and we're very pleasant. We'd definitely use them again.

The two guys arrived later than what they placed on their actual work order. I walked them through the house and showed them what was to be loaded. I told them "several times" that NO BOXES were to be loaded on the truck, only furniture. The reason for this was that I had several fragile items and planed
on transporting all boxed items in our SUV's and I wanted to make sure that all my furniture (including my patio furniture) was transported in the truck to Savannah. They worked slowly, banged furniture against walls And started loading boxes on the truck. I again to them Not To Load Any Boxes. I also informed them that I had plenty of blankets for furniture and if they needed more to let me know asI had more and that they could also use my oriental rugs as covering as well. When they finally informed me the truck was loaded, there was no room for my patio furniture because they continuedloading boxes after I instructed them several times not to. Now, I will have to rent another moving truck to transport the patio furniture to Savannah. If they had left the boxes off, I could have had all the furniture moved. Once at Savannah, my furniture was majorly damaged. Several of my antiques had no finish left on them because tthey did not wrap them in blankets or rugs. All the rugs were just thrown in the truck rolled up. My cherry dining table has deep gouges in the table top and legs. One table was broken and they guy who unloaded it stated it was broken before they loaded it because of where it was laying I. The truck. I have a Chippendale Chest for my living room that is scattered up and finish rubbed off. My antique Tiger Oak bed deep gouges on the top part of the seven foot head board and is Very Noticeable.
The guys who unloaded our truck in Savannah, GA also is contracted out by Hire A Helper and he said that it was pretty clear that they could have cared less loading the truck in Columbia SC.
I attempted to contact 5Star Movers by phone. A young man man answered and I asked to speak to the manager or owner. He said, "Just a minute." And then told someone with him that I wanted to speak to a manager. The other guys in the back ground said, "I I don't want to talk to him I.....
They hung up on me. I attempted to call back and the recorded message said they were not taking calls.
Now I have antiques that I have had for years and cared for all messed up and needing to be restored. Some of them like my dinning room table will always show the deep gouge even after sanding and staining.
I would never recommend 5 Star Moving in Columbia / Irmo SC area to anyone!
