Unfortunately, not both of the workers had the same work ethics. My walls some of have taken a hit with items that were scraped or banged into. This was originally the same company that unloaded my truck a year ago and walking a lot of items up. One flight of stairs, and this time bringing the items down a flight of stairs, took them twice as long.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. As a business owner who takes real pride in how we operate, I want to address this calmly and clearly.

I’m sorry the experience didn’t feel the same as last time, but the claim about work ethic and timing isn’t accurate. Every move is different. Last year, we were unloading and taking items up the stairs. This time, we were responsible for bringing everything down the stairs — which requires slower, more controlled handling to keep your belongings and your home safe. That alone changes the timeline.

Regarding the marks on the walls, we documented the condition beforehand. Some of the scuffs were already there, and anything new would’ve been handled right on the spot if it had been mentioned during the move. We never ignore concerns.

My team worked professionally and did the job the right way. I care about my customers, but I also won’t let the situation be painted in a way that doesn’t reflect what actually happened.

If you’d like to talk it through, I’m open to that. I’m all about solutions

Stole from me. Went to the Raleigh police department, yesterday. Still have to reach out to the AG's office and the D.O.T. employee in Fld who covers the entire south/east region. The owner of the moving company never got back to me once I left him a message after looking for my bank checks ALL NIGHT LONG. My bank checks were stolen. My bank put a STOP on my 150 missing bank checks.
I have to order new bank checks, last week. All this, after I treated the movers like brothers. I have had issues with my W & D since all my belongings were stacked on top of each other in the back of a 15 foot truck. The owner promised me 2 days earlier, that the movers would come with a 24 foot truck. Owner low balls the bid (TO SECURE) and promises Hire A Helper WHAT HE WILL DO FOR THE CUSTOMER. Then, cuts corners so more money goes in his pocket and the customer gets screwed. Like bringing a smaller truck that costs less to rent. Hire A Helper turns a blind eye to the matter because it is the moving companies that make Hire A Helper their money. While the customer's belongings gets dented and scratched and stolen. The workers did do an amazing job getting all my furniture into a small trunk. I am in shock that there is not much more damage to my furniture and W & D, since everything was piled on top of each other. HOW can Hire A Helper allow the moving company owner to bring a smaller trunk than promised to moving DAY and do nothing about this on-going switch & bait ?

At Irongate Movers, we take every claim seriously — especially accusations as serious as theft. After reviewing our records and speaking with the crew who completed this job, we found no evidence whatsoever to support the claims made in this review.

We were never contacted by law enforcement regarding this customer, and no officer, agency, or investigator has reached out to us about any missing checks. If that happens, we are always fully cooperative, but as of today no report involving our company has been filed or verified.

Regarding the truck size:
The customer booked their move through a third-party platform that sets the job details, timing, and equipment requirements. We used the equipment authorized for the job based on the information and cubic footage provided. At no point did we “bait and switch” or alter pricing. Our pricing remained exactly as quoted through the platform.

Our team completed the job professionally, quickly, and with the same care we give all customers. The crew even received a compliment from this customer during the move. It’s unfortunate to see this type of review after the job was completed successfully with no issues reported on-site.

We understand moving can be stressful, but making false accusations doesn’t help anyone. We stand by our work, we stand by our integrity, and we will continue to serve our community with honesty and professionalism.

If the customer has real documentation or wishes to discuss the matter respectfully, we are always open to communication.

Helpers were on time and did a great job moving boxes and furniture into the box truck for us. They did great professional job be careful and not damaging anything in the process of moving from the house to the truck. I would definitely use this company again with future moves or helpers.

They were 6 hrs late!! I dont believe the excuse i was given, if you had been on another move for 8 hrs you would not look so clean and fresh as they did when they finally showed up!! I was told i would get a discount and to call once they were done to apply. I did that but no one answered my call or called me back, that was two days ago and i have left several voicemails. They were quick once they arrived but our microwave is now missing. I am so disappointed in every part of this process and will never use this service again!!

We were told that Irongate would arrive between 1 and 2 pm. They didn't arrive until close to 4 pm. This delay caused our storage units to not be picked up and an additional monthly charge. This delay set us back $730.00.

Mover's response:
We are super sorry we couldn’t accommodate you in the time that was chosen. You were alerted prior to the time of arrival that there was going to be delays and you said as long as the arrival window was by 4 it would be fine. We arrived at 3:30 and unloaded the TWO pods in 1 hour with an extra man for FREE

I believe that your review isnt the reflection of the work but rather the miscommunication that you had with the pods facility; Which you said they werent going to arrive til 7.
Honestly when it comes to more time sensitive projects you as a customer must not wait til the last day and time to get something like that done. Those pods should have arrived a day prior so you would have had more time and you would have not had to spend 730 for another month of storage. It’s highly unfortunate that happened but blaming us entirely because of poor planning doesn’t make too much sense

And also… you booked us for 4-5 hours and had we used the full time paid for you would have still had to pay for the pods because you didn’t space it out enough. The pods came literally at 4 ahead of their schedulr

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

Customers can expect a stellar service from start to finish! From the initial contact til the moment payment has been made. We show up on time, fully equipped and ready to rock!

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

They can expect a courtesy call before the move starts, the crew arrives, takes a look at the home and does a pre check. That means checking around the house to look at the condition of the items so that we are on the same page. Then we bring in the tools and start getting the items ready for transport. In the truck the items get packed safely and securely to ensure a successful move. They can expect smiling and friendly movers because customer service and satisfaction is our top priority!

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Everything should be ready for the upcoming move. Dressers should be empty, unless otherwise stated Items should be in a box ready to go TVs and appliances should be unhooked from walls and connectors Have your items being moved and items being discarded to be organized beforehand. Disclose all items of extreme importance and value beforehand

What types of moves have you handled?

We have handled local, long distance moves, piano moves, gun safe moves, industrial machine moves, office relocation, interior moves and much more!

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

The experience! Being able to meet new people everyday is a blessing! Everyone has an interesting story to tell and it’s fun getting to help others and hear their story while doing so

What training do you provide your crew members?

We train the crews on how to pack items and how to wrap and manuever furniture.
