Guys were phenomenal. Fire alarm went off just as we were starting, shutting down the elevators, but they were proactive and kept moving stuff out of the apartment towards the elevator so it could go down once it unlocked. Extremely courteous, exceptionally helpful, could not recommend them more

Jamil & Desmond were great. They called to let me know they were on their way, showed up on time and knocked out the unloading of my pod in about 90 minutes. They even had time to help us put together some furniture. Highly recommend these guys.

First the good news: The movers, Jamil and Desi, did a terrific job. They were professional, hard-working, and showed great care in protecting our furniture and belongings. They worked as long as they could, but we needed to have another POD delivered in order to complete the job.
They said they would be happy to come back, but I needed to speak to their boss to arrange it. I spoke with Thomas Kirby, their supervisor at Smart Move. He said he would have movers back again the next morning, April 26, between 8-9am. I was pleased.
Now the bad news: The next morning they didn't show. I called Thomas Kirby at 10am to enquire and he said they wouldn't be there until 1-2 pm. No one showed up then either. At 3pm, I again called Thomas Kirby and he said he would check on them and call me back. He didn't call me back. I called again at 4pm and got voicemail, left another message and waited. Nothing.
Shortly thereafter, I called the number for Smart Move and spoke to a woman who tried to investigate. She got Thomas Kirby on the phone and he became argumentative, said he didn't remember even speaking to me, and said they would not be coming! This I already knew.
So, we spent the entire day waiting for the movers to come. If Thomas Kirby had communicated this to me earlier, I could have tried to make other arrangements. Instead, he blamed the whole situation on Porch Moving, saying that they "dropped the ball," then continued shouting at me. His rude, unprofessional attitude made me furious.
I reached out to Hire-A-Helper to try to find a mover to come on Sunday, April 27, and thankfully, they were able to get me hooked up with One Direction Moving, who completed the job for us.
That said, we want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience caused by the breakdown in communication and the missed follow-up appointment. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we're genuinely sorry for the time you lost and the stress it created during an already demanding process.
We take full responsibility for the miscommunication and the unprofessional behavior you experienced. Please know that your feedback has been taken seriously, and we are actively addressing this situation internally to ensure it does not happen again. Every customer deserves clear, respectful communication and reliable follow-through, and we clearly fell short in this instance.

Let me just say, this was the best moving experience I've ever had. The crew came early and with an extra set of hands, got right to work, and did all the wrapping and heavy lifting. Literally took such great care of all of my furniture and moved so quickly. Then, when the storage company picking up the container decided to show up an hour and a half early?!?! These guys managed to get everything loaded efficiently and quickly so that we made it before they had to take the container away. All very positive, polite guys and so easy to work with getting the whole 2 bed/2 bath apartment packed in 2 hours! Crew was Daniel, Elijah, Ben, and Ramzey, these guys are amazing

My crew of four did not call before they arrived. They did ok but failed to wrap some furniture towards the end. Cell phones were out quite often. Could have been dressed more professionally. We’ll see how the PODS unload. Just an ok job.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
My favorite part about being a mover is meeting new people everyday. Some of these relationships have lasted over 15 years!
