Walter and Mario did a great job. They were fast, efficient and packed the POD effectively. I don't think they missed an inch of space in packing the POD that they could fill with something. Great service!

They did a good job and were eager to help. I have no complaints about them. They were careful to protect the furniture. They did have trouble connecting the dryer to the vent. Also, some items they brought downstairs fell over after they left so they were not placed in a stable position.

As you may know moving can be stressful. Especially when you are moving across country. After having to cancel the first crew and bump the move back a day because the Pod wasn’t delivered on time we were extremely stressed. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise and boy do we believe everything happens for a reason. Alhood Van Lines was able to schedule a crew at the last minute and they showed up the next day. Logan and Wes were AMAZING!!! They understood what the most important pieces were and went above and beyond ensuring everything was protected and packed carefully. My wife and I have quite an extensive art collection and they made sure each piece was completely protected. Thank you Logan and Wes for being such a positive in a stressful time!!!!!

After reading HireAHelper’s great reviews and talking with Peter at Alhood Van Lines I hired 2 helpers for 2 hours+ to load my one bedroom apartment into a 16’ POD for a long-distance move. The 2 helpers, Logan and Aaron (?) arrived on time. Logan assured me that all of the contents of my apartment would fit in the POD, no problem. I’d need to purchase a few tie down straps and few, if any, moving blankets. I had only a few specific requests for loading the POD. Items to load last were easy to ID. Logan and Aaron kept up a steady pace hustling up and down 2 flights of stairs. They also helped pack more boxes. I had underestimated how much help I needed and was so relieved that they could stay longer than 2 hours. I expected to write a quick 5 star review about how great things went.
That changed when I saw the POD later in the day. I was shocked to find about 3 feet of empty space between the top of the load and the ceiling throughout the entire POD! That means 37% of the entire POD is not being used and is not accessible now. Items to be loaded last were in the middle, including the empty suitcases to be left in the apartment. Rather than resting on one side, my queen-sized mattress was draped on top of the load, bent in the middle, with one end supported by a folding bed frame taking up about 3’ x 5’ of floor space. Nothing could be securely stacked on top of this soft, uneven surface. Two chairs were perched on top of the mattress, unsecured. I had planned on loading a few more boxes of essential business equipment, household goods, and 2 suitcases full of clothes later that evening but there was no room for them. None of the few instructions I gave had been followed. I was astounded at the lack of respect and apparent lack of experience loading a truck or container. I expected better from professionals.
When I asked why so there was much empty space at the top of the load I didn’t get an answer. Of course I was annoyed but no shouting or cursing at them, just asking for information. Aaron seemed upset at my question, started closing the POD door, jerked on it and jammed it, then dented it when he tried to force it open again. Logan managed to squeeze inside the POD and open it. Logan said that he didn’t know I wanted it packed all the way to the top and tried to deflect any responsibility. I reminded him of reassuring me that everything would fit. He asked me why I was being so rude to them. He offered to unload everything and repack it. It was 5:00 pm, the small parking lot was filling up and there was no place to put the boxes and things if they were unloaded. I didn’t have the time to extend this later into the evening. Logan did rearrange the bed frame supporting the mattress and retrieve some “load last” items from the middle including suitcases. Upon my request he secured the chairs on top of the mattress with a tie down strap. I took a few pictures to show the empty space at the top of the load. Previous movers have automatically loaded the contents to the ceiling and used rope or tie-down straps to secure items without my specific instructions to do so.
I’ve moved these same household goods many, many times and have never seen such a catastrophe. As a result, I had to spend my remaining few hours in Colorado dealing with all of the things that would not fit in the POD rather than seeing friends and cleaning the apartment. The POD only had space available for the suitcases so I packed essential business equipment. I’ll have to replace costly household goods and clothing that I had to donate or leave behind. The next morning I had the POD door open when the driver arrived to pick it up. He was almost as shocked and dismayed as I was at the unprofessional job of packing. PODs wants their clients to be treated well when referred to other businesses. I have no idea what I’ll find when I open the door to the POD.

The movers from Alhood Van Lines were very efficient and professional. I would give a five star rating, but they took my tape gun, that they knew very well was mine because they did not have one - and they used colored tape and mine was clear. I was super disappointed and that made the rest of my packing that day a whole lot harder without the tape gun. It made me regret the very large tip I gave them.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Our customers will receive an introductory email & phone call to review details & materials important for a safe & efficient move. We will call a day or two before the move to confirm the date & arrival time.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Your crew will call en route with an updated arrival time. At your home the crew will do an initial wallk through to review items to be loaded & they will prep your home's floors, railings & doors with tarps & protection. The walk through is the time to point out any items or areas that need special attention - such as antiques, attics, etc.
