At some point there was a break down in communication. I reserved and paid for 8 total hours of unloading help. Unfortunately one of the guys unloading was told 1.5 hours. He had other commitments so he had to leave. Through some additional miscommunication, we were not offered additional help until the truck was unloaded. Dave( the other guy unloading) worked like crazy, but in an effort to get it done, was not exceptionally careful. Miscommunication happens-I understand that. Unfortunately the one guy did not handle it well. I did not want to pay for 8 hrs when I did not receive 8 hours of help. His response was "I don't apologize for things that aren't my fault". I wasn't looking for an apology, I just wanted an accurate bill. He kept telling me 2 guys for 2 hrs is the minimum. I understood that but I paid for MORE than the minimum. After talking to Hire a Helper and the owner of Makin Moves, I received an updated invoice.
If you use this company, make sure you speak directly to the owner. Confirm and reconfirm right up to the day you need help.

They worked hard but did not listen to my instructions. I had to leave prior to them finishing up and they loaded mattresses and did not put in the frames. Loaded part of a buffet and not the other part. Now I have to get another POD to load that stuff because it is packed so tight I am afraid to try and rearrange it alone. They left out several items I said MUST go. I explained the day before and the day of that I could prioritize items if we did not have room and explicitly told them which items HAD to go. Most of those are now in my living room! They would be good for moving a few pieces from place to place but not to load a truck or POD unless you stand there and tell them how to load it.

I had scheduled for the movers to come between 10-11. I confirmed with Vincent this would work. They ended up coming at 12 after an hour of saying there were almost there. They did give a 3rd guy for free due to this. The guys were nice & respectful & asked me questions a lot. But they packed my truck so horrible. They had my couches down like ready to be sat on and put boxes on them totally insecure. Nothing was stacked past maybe 2 boxes. I ended up spending 2 hours repacking the truck so it was secure. I have no doubt I would have had broken stuff if I had left of with how they set it.

They were on time, friendly, asked for where to put items, and worked safely - meaning I felt that they didn't throw my items around. All have been unpacked and no broken items. Very easy to work with. They also worked quickly and were done under time I thought it would need. Definately would utilize them for any future moves.

Guys were great. They worked non stop and all I had to do was point to where it would go.
I moved in ahead of my husband so had to really rely on outside muscle to get the job done.
They were pleasant and strong and got the Pod unloaded and distributed in an hour.
