The movers did a great job, but have been calling me and even came back to my house because they claim they have not been paid from "Hire a Helper" for their work. There seems to be a lack of communication somewhere. Please take care of your workers. This looks very bad for your company!

Mover's response:
Mrs Rosenberg the crew came back because the payment was not released and they thought the customer needed assistance with it. The crews are well compensated for their work. All payments are released to employees on business days. Thanks for your concern and hospitality.

The guys that showed up were amazing, worked hard and got it all done! We were supposed to have 3 guys/ we had one very heavy price of furniture that requires 3-4 people to lift, but they did not show. Again, the fellows that came were so amazing!

Clever name. Totally out of touch with reality though. Showed up late. No apology, no energy, very inexperienced, disrespectful. Shame on hire a helper for even contracting with these guys.

I can’t believe you as a company owner would even say those things the guys went above and beyond . The guys kept in contact with you to let you know they were running behind. They also assembled and placed everything where it was supposed to go. The customer stated she had given you a tip for the guys and you took off with it. We are reliable, professional and experienced movers. We couldn’t prorate the job because the guys went above and beyond there duties to make up for the 30mins and they were finished in an hour. Extremely disorganized. I set it up through Hire-a-Helper and paid in advance. Despite that, I started receiving calls before 8am (service was scheduled for 10am) from one of the movers asking me how he was going to be paid for the job and telling me he would only come if I paid him directly. I asked him to contact the manager as I had already paid, and he said he would, but 10am came around and no one showed. I called the manager and it took a few calls to get in touch, but the manager told me he would come personally to do my move (spoiler alert: he did not).

Then I started getting texts and calls from random numbers asking if I still needed help. One person even mentioned seeing the job on Craigslist. Which, if they need to outsource or whatever, that’s fine, but they shouldn’t give out contact information for they client, they should arrange it themselves rather than leaving it on the client to deal with. At this point they were over 2 hours late. Then I got another text promising they were going to show up with an extra (third) mover to help make up the time (spoiler alert: that wasn’t true).

Eventually two people showed around 1:10pm and took around 2.5 hours to complete the work. So it ultimately did get done.

However, I continued receiving texts through the night and into the next day from the movers asking me to complete the paperwork or contact the manager asking to be paid. I signed the paperwork promptly the first time I was asked. I eventually had to tell them there was nothing more I could help with.

Giving two stars because it did get done, they moved everything I asked, and they were polite. I have not had a chance to assess if there was any damage, however. So, overall, I wouldn’t use this service again unless absolutely desperate. Made an already stressful time much more stressful.

On time....very professional and knowledgeable. Helped me feel at ease about everything fitting in the POD. Did not mess around...did their job and both of them had a very good disposition. They were easy to talk to and were willing to answer all my questions. Excellent job!!
