The movers arrived about two hours later than the scheduled window, which immediately put us behind and shortened an already tight timeline.
Once they arrived, the actual moving work was acceptable, but it’s important to note that most of our items were already pre-staged, which likely made the job smoother and faster than it otherwise would have been.
A major issue was that the crew did not arrive with their own tools. I was told ahead of time that they would disassemble bed frames and disconnect appliances like the washer and dryer, but I ended up having to do much of that myself and also lend them basic tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches. This further ate into the limited time we had, especially after the late arrival.
Overall, the job got done, but the lack of punctuality and preparation made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. With better time management and proper equipment, this could have been a much smoother move.
