Mcleod Moving is a family owned company and we work extra hard to ensure our staff of 15 movers is qualified and trained well enough to offer the most professional services possible, we make sure our movers are prepared for every job with shoulder straps, hand trucks, dollys and wrap so they can handle any job! We also specialize in moving large gun safes, pianos and large hot tubs! We hired Douglas and his crew for a second time this November.
We had a 26' truck AND a 12' trailer full of our crap to get into a third-floor apartment and a storage unit nearby.
We requested help in the afternoon, and they were finishing up a prior job 50 miles away that took longer than anticipated, but Douglas did a good job of keeping us abreast of how that was going and when he expected to arrive at our place.
The three big, strapping fellas arrived at around 3:45 and worked tirelessly until the work was done.
They were careful with our things and were polite and pleasant the entire time.
There were a few times when items were put in places we didn't want them, but I really can't blame the guys for not knowing what we don't tell them. Some of the boxes were marked "storage" or "food" and got put in the wrong place, but again, the sun had gone down and it was dark, and it was an enormous job.
Using McLeod Movers was an overwhelmingly positive experience, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants a good job done with their move.

I am giving two stars because the two young men who showed up to unload a moving POD did a good job.
If not for that, I would give one star because I prepaid for two movers for three hours and that came to a total of $598.
However, the movers were only here for an hour and 15 minutes, and McCleod would not give a refund or allow me to use the remaining hours for the other three pods that will need to be emptied.
The cancellation policy is buried in a long list of their terms for service, which in most cases are legal phrases and statements. If their cancellation policy is not negotiable, then it should be in red flashing print so that a consumer knows what they’re buying.
I would not recommend them to anyone for that reason.
Our prepaid time blocks are non-refundable because staffing and scheduling are arranged in advance based on the exact number of hours a customer reserves. When hours are booked, we commit those movers exclusively to that job and remove that time from our schedule, preventing us from accepting other customers for the same window. Even if the work finishes early, we still incur the cost of reserving that labor and time slot.
Additionally, prepaid hours are tied to a specific job and appointment, which means we’re unable to transfer unused hours to future bookings or separate PODs. This policy is listed in our terms of service, and we are working on making it more visible so expectations are clear upfront.

Excellent communication through a couple of unexpected schedule changes, showed up exactly on time, well prepared to do the unloading, worked hard, very careful of our stuff and even asked when they were all done if there was anything that they could move to another location and I did have them move one thing before they departed. I would definitely use them again!

What training do you provide your crew members?
We require each employee to watch several videos on proper lifting, and moving techniques. After around 2 hours of videos we do 6 hours of hands on training at our storage facility. Each employee must pass the wrapping, lifting, stacking, and strapping test.
