John and his help showed up on time, brought their own tools and equipment. They were friendly, courteous and knew exactly how to make the move safe and simple.

They showed up late and charged for the time they should have been there. One of the men took a break for almost the entire time. My furniture was ruined. Pictures were broken. They got bleach on everything. Such a dissappointment. One of the men actually did a good job but I hired two and not one. Next time just send the one man if this is the case.

Here's the good: showed up on time. The supervisor overall did a good job managing the additional two workers and were able to handle a very large couch. HERE IS THE BAD: A 50" DLP projector screen TV was loaded with care into the moving truck, covered with plastic bubble wrap and placed between mattereses and blankets. It made the trip in good condition and my mover supervised the off loading of the TV by hand with hi assistance. The supervisor was not at the truck when Armando [one of his workers] picked up the TV with a two-wheel truck and moved it to an elevator where it was placed on a four-wheel dolly. The next thing we know is the supervisor coming down and notifying us of damage done to the TV screen, ruining the TV with a 7 x 3 inch gouge into the TV set on the edge. THE ONLY WAY THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED IS THAT THE TV WAS GOUGED BY THE TW0-WHEEL HAND TRUCK. This TV should have been hand-carried. Instead the worker used a hand truck to move it from the truck to the elevator. There was NOTHING in the truck that would have accounted for the damage. Worse still, A-Plus would not take ANY responsibility for the damage or even refund the cost of the unloading. Would we use them again? Of course not. Hire-A-Helper was responsive but not A-Plus.
