Larry and Lewis were very professional. Worked together well. They were very aware of the time they were taking and used it wisely. They were very experienced at packing a POD and used the space wisely. They cared for my things as if they were their own. I would highly recommend them.

The helpers were fantastic! However, Mark the point person on the phone was not very nice - rather pushy and treated me as if I didn't know what I was talking about on the difference between the wheels on a furniture dolly versus an appliance dolly when having to move items across grass. I told him the furniture dolly (that I already have 2 of my own) wheels would leave ruts in the wet grass/dirt. Where the appliance dolly has much larger wheels. Then he finally just said they didn't have an appliance dolly available. He could've just said that in the first place. Then he was also really pushing on getting me to sign the agreement before the guys started any work. And, when I was told to call in that they were finished. They left to get on the road and he made them drive back until I finished my online stuff.
Just a little understanding and customer service goes a long way.

Brian and Larry were fantastic. They worked really hard in the worst weather hot with high humidity. They got the job done on time. We are so impressed with this moving team.

Our crew worked very hard and got the job done a little quicker than expected. However they were a little careless and caused some damage to one piece of furniture and a couple doorways. For what we paid for the job, it was probably worth the damage. One of the workers complained quite a bit which I thought was not best for customer relations.
You made no mention of anyones bad attitude or damages when we spoke.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask future Move Assist customers to please alert myself or my staff when issues, problems or concerns arise on a jobsite, so that they may be addressed in a timely manner !!!

Move Assist was by far the worst moving experience have had in the 5 moves I have had in Chicago. The owner had terrible customer service, was pushy and attempted to overcharge me at the end (insisted they were there for 3 hours even though the first guy came at 8:30am, second guy at 9:15am and done by 10:30am). One mover was hostile, threatening and careless. The other mover was great (even apologized for his co-worker) but the experience with the owner and the second mover completely nulled his professionalism.
First dealing with the owner Mark was challenging to say the least. He was rude when I called to confirm and very pushy in the up-sell insisting I needed to pre-pay 3 guys for 3 hours (final move was 2 guys for less than 2 hours). I would have canceled then but my first choices were already booked.
When it came time for the move, the first guy, Mike, shows up at 8:30am -perfect - however he cannot start working until the second guy shows up. The first guy was friendly, professional and hard working.
The second mover doesn't arrive until 45 minutes AFTER the first mover. He came in reeking of cigarettes and looking ragged. He was rough with my furniture and struggled with maneuvering it. The second mover was hostile, rude and dismissive when I made basic requests about items to be loaded together. At one point, he planned to pack a very heavy antique sewing cabinet on top of a fragile antique desk. I asked him to place it in the second pod instead, and this is when he exploded, started yelling at me and walked off. He left the sewing cabinet blocking the door and called his boss to complain. After he was very rude with my mom, I ask to speak to his boss, Mark. Mark seemed unconcerned that he was being hostile and aggressive. He eventually conceded that he would "talk to" the second guy.
After this, the second guy quieted down though didn't do a lot more work - just shifted things around in the cubes. I ended carrying a lot of boxes down because I wanted this guy out of my house!
I also want to note that Mike, the first mover, continued to work throughout this mess and was careful with my things. Nice to see people who can be cool even when their co-workers are losing it. Very impressed with him. I ended up give the entire tip I had planned for both to Mike. I hope he kept it all for himself because he did the work of 2 people and had great customer service at the same time.
Do yourself a favor and go with someone else. Dealing with erratic, rude behavior is bad anytime, but it's the last thing you want to handle on moving day!

After a miscommunication with the starting time the two workers Ron and Mike did a great job loading 2 PODS in about 3 1/2 hours. The guys worked hard and did a great job maneuvering heavy furniture and boxes up and down flights of stairs without any damage.
I would definitely use them again but will contact them to re-confirm start time.
