It started to rain during the time window they were scheduled to arrive. They said they waited in the car to wait for the rain to pass, which I appreciated because the rain did pass! They were efficient, respectful, and worked hard to put everything in a 1bedroom apt to the Pod. I was impressed they were done in an hour! Would hire them again.

The company rescheduled the times they were supposed to come at the last minute and was still late to the time we changed it too. They were not prepared for the job and did not stay the whole two hours we paid them. I wrapped all to my furniture so that it would not bet damaged or dirty they removed all of the wrapping.

First I will start by saying that I have moved 23 times. I have done some of those moves using friends and family and some with hired helpers. So my expectations are set by the many experiences I've had. HireAHelper connected me with a moving service who sent 2 "movers" to load a POD for me. The company they were associated with (Second's Movers) sent one mover who seemed to have limited experience and a second mover that had very little experience. They left me a voice mail that claimed they would have everything needed to pack my POD efficiently. They showed up with nothing besides shoulder strap style lifts. In preparation for my move, I stacked my boxes 3 high and provided them with the use of 3 dollies. Instead of using a dolly, they moved each box one at a time. I also provided ratcheting straps to tie off the cargo as it was packed. I had to ask then tell them to tie it off several times. When they moved my fridge, they used the shoulder straps and did not remove the doors. Since only 1 of the movers had used this before, they let the fridge swing into the edge of the granite counter and badly damage both doors. The fridge was $3000. HireAHelper is paying me $180 for the damage and charged me full price for the "help" as well as an additional hour since they took so long to move each box one at a time and took a long time to remove the doors of the fridge after they damaged them. They did not show up with any tools to do this. The voice mail they left me indicates the movers will show up with tools. Because they were tired and lacked experience, they began to just start loading the POD with all theadt minute boxes. I was not able to fit many things I planned to take because they didn't know how to load it efficiently. I had to get a friend of mine to come and repack the POD and my fridge is ruined. When I called to let them know, Second's Movers disagreed with me about the experience level of the movers and told me to file a claim with HireAHelper. HireAHelper told me that I failed to compete the proper form to be covered for this type of damage so they were only responsible for $180. So needless to say it was not a success and I am not happy with the outcome. Due to their lack of experience I had to leave many things behind that will now have to be replaced, I have to repack the POD and I will need to replace my expensive refrigerator. I would call this a fail all the way around. I do not know if HireAHelper has other movers they work with. Maybe every experience will be different. The company they connected me with had a high rating. They failed me in every way. Moving is stressful and back breaking even if you have help. Adding to that with more expense and disappointment is not what I thought I was doing.
