They did not work together. Sampson Kanu was the leader and one could tell he knew what he was doing. Each person shook my hand when we started. They started working feverishly once they arrived and started but it was not an organized effort. The loading dock often got crowded and the men were not using dollies like the men I had just used in Houston two days before. They tossed boxes and did not seem to take instruction well from the leader. The leader was taking phone calls on “my clock” and that is when one man dropped the book case off the back of the truck. Then when Sampson got frustrated and started getting on to his guys they all started cussing at one another. One of the men was vaping. I had to give the a get organized and work together pep talk.
I am not happy with Simply Moving either. They switched from a mover who was charging $745 with three people to a mover for $922. I was never told it was going to be 4 men. As I explained to two different people on the phone I was not happy with the price increase of $180. I was basically told it was this or too bad. This was at the end of the week before two trips I am having to make to Houston, Texas from Waynesville, MO. These are 14 hour trips in a Penske truck with a speed control on it one way. That is close to 60 hours on the road for us. The lack of understanding and service from Simply Moving is disappointing. I will be contacting Penske with my complaint.
The movers are people you recommended and scheduled. You changed the schedule and told me to take it or leave it basically. You said you gave me a $150 discount so that means UNLOADING a truck which according to you all is supposed to be an easier quicker task would have cost me $330 more than loading. Hard to believe a discount was really involved. You guys like to make a sale with your perky little sales people but when it comes to service you drop the ball.
I went ahead and paid the mover based on the price given but only because he would have left me alone otherwise and I try to live up to my agreements.
And if you think I am just a cheap grumpy customer go look at my comments about XTRA AFFORDABLE MOVERS in Houston, Texas. A glowing recommendation. The marketplace needs to be just as accountable as the unloaders. The switch at a higher price and the extra man for the extra hour was an oversight at least if not dishonest.
Finally, I was told a manager was going to contact me today after the fiasco. That never occurred I imagine because you got your money so what do you care. If you want to make it right it would be appreciated and would go a long way to restoring some level of respect.

The guys were great to work with. I was able to stay in close communication with the team lead (Samson) to manage when his team would arrive based on when my pod would be delivered. They were on time, very respectful of us and our belongings, and worked extremely hard in high temps. They unwrapped all the furniture after it was moved in. They helped me put together a piece of furniture too.

Did not show so I called twice and had to leave a message. Never did call me. Called hire a helper. Supervisor said there was a misunderstanding on the time. We had emailed each other AND spoke on the phone. Not sure how there could have been a misunderstanding? Said they could be at my home in a hour and a half which would have been 2 hours and 15 minutes past the latest scheduled arrival time. Horrible, poor service. I rented a U-Haul and was counting on these people!
What a joke. Would not recommend!!!!
