This is the first time we’ve moved ourselves in 30 years. After comparing prices we realized we wished to use containers—and move ourselves. We just didn’t want to LOAD the containers. Our realtor referred us to HireAHelper. Great job! Punctual, courteous, efficient and likable. WE WOULD RECOMMEND them to anyone wishing to avoid the strain of moving boxes and furniture in/out of your house/apt. Cheap and GREAT! Why did we not hear of this before???

Brian and Raph were great. They were both so friendly, professional and helpful. They went the extra mile for us and made our move so much less stressful. Brian managed to get my couch out of my old apartment, which seemed like an impossible task. We were going to do another trip after the guys left, but Brian managed to get the couch in the truck so we didn't have to do another. Scott and I wouldn't have been able to do the move without the guys and their positive attitudes. Would recommend them to friends!

Terrible. Only sent 2 helpers instead of the 3 ordered with no explanation or apology (other than “we can’t get ahold of him”). The two helpers who came worked hard but despite me reminding the owner and helpers they would need IDs to access the military base we were moving to, they showed up with a suspended license and were denied entry. So we were left with a 26’ U-Haul full of our stuff, overage charges from U-Haul and a whole lot of stuff left behind at our old house because we weren’t send the correct # of helpers to begin with. Thankfully Hire-a-helper was able to get us a new moving company who were awesome and professional and got the job completed.

Original appointment window was 9-10am, movers did not arrive until 10:30am, however they were communicating their arrival time. They came prepared with dollies, however did not seem to be too speedy with the move. The move was from one unit in the apartment complex to another, and the freight elevator had been reserved for them in advance - however the move still took 2.5 hrs when it was solely for furniture from an 800 sq. ft. apartment, and when I had moved most of the boxes myself before they'd arrived. They were only responsible for moving a handful of larger items, which is why it surprised me that it took so long, and had to be charged for the extra half hour that they were there. There were also multiple scrapes on the wall of the hallway from their determination to not unscrew the headboard from my queen sized bed frame. I would not use Maybaum Movers in the future.
