I used this company to load to PODs with my household belongings for an interstate move.
They were surprisingly fast loading my two PODs with all my furniture and other belongings. I had a hard time keeping up inventorying my belonging before they were loaded . As they left, they handed me all the supplies they had not used still unopened: pads, wrap, rope, sofa cover.
They had not tied down ANYTHING.
They did not wrap ANYTHING, not even the 450 year old antique buffet.
They padded almost NOTHING, only two antique inlaid mahogany tables that they stacked on top of one another.
As expected, items shifted in the course of transit. At the time of unloading, contents had slid, toppling furniture, and resulting in damage of varying degrees to most of my furniture, since none of it was wrapped nor padded (except the tables mentioned above).
The antique buffet had a foot snap completely off the piece.
An antique mahogany table had its inlay and edges damaged from having another table stacked on it.
Most of my seven bookcases have various scrapes and scratches that were not present prior to the move, and some of the shelving pegs are missing. I will not be able to use all the shelves until I can find identical replacement pegs.
My new sofa has some disfigurement.
I am not yet fully unpacked, but I have found a broken antique tea cup. I dread to think what I will find in all the remaining boxes with breakable items.
I cannot fathom in what reality or universe the two men who loaded my PODs thought it was acceptable to:
1. not tie down ANYTHING
2. not wrap/pad furniture when explicitly requested to do so
3. not use the sofa cover provided for the 7 day old sofa
4. utterly disregard ALL the direction I gave regarding how I needed my furniture to be protected (especially in handling the 450 year old buffet!)
My conclusion: You cannot afford to use these movers if you value your belongings. I believe I would have had no damage to my furniture or broken items if they had simply done a proper job of protecting and restraining my belongings.
I will need to find a professional restorer to repair the damage to my antique furniture.
I am sorry about your experience. The guys loaded up these two pods within three hours, they utilized the paper furniture pads that you provided, most of the plastic wrap was used, some rope for the layers and one of the sofa covers out of the two covers provided. We did advise you to get heavy furniture blankets instead of paper pads because of damages that can occur, we did the best we could with what you provided, especially for the fact that the house was not fully packed and ready to go when we got there, the boxes were underpacked and under padded. I did review the photographs and paperwork pertaining to the load and all of the items were covered and secured. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. I highly recommend these guys. There was good communication for days leading up to the move, making sure everything was still a go and carve the times in stone. We had a POD sent to our new home in Boise, ID from our previous home in North Carolina. The two men that unloaded it were great! Very quick but took great care of our items. What can a customer expect after booking with you?
We will contact the customer and customize the move to fit the customers needs.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The customer will have the movers show up within the pre arranged time ready to go with all moving gear.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
As a customer, we recommend that all boxes are labeled and ready to go. One thing that we do emphasize is that the customer provides plenty of moving blankets, rope or tie down straps and tape. Our main goal is to make sure that your belongings do not get damaged. We will happily wrap your items in moving blankets and make sure that your belongings will not get damaged.
What types of moves have you handled?
In our many years in business, we have handled quite a few local moves (100 mile radius), plenty of long distance cross country moves and corporate/office moving.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
We love interacting with the customer, It helps us get to know how we can make the next customers experience better, we are more than happy to give advice on moving. We understand that this is a very stressful time and we have personally been through it too.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We provide plenty of hands on training with other crew members, many of our crew members have previous experience with national moving companies and are experienced in the moving industry.
