2 movers showed up on time, but we're unprepared. They said they had been told the job was to pack a 1 bedroom apartment into a Pod. In fact I had a 3 bedroom house. One of the movers went to pick up his boss; that took 1/2 hour. The boss had a better understanding of packing my household goods onto an ABF trailer, but there were still problems. The crew did not seem to understand how to pack for a long distance move. When the trailer arrived from its cross country trip, it was obvious how poorly items had been loaded. Boxes were set on top of others marked fragile. I had to run up the ramp to keep an antique table from falling to the trailer floor. The crew went overtime, and charged me accordingly. No, I do not recommend them and would not use them again. On top of this, Hire a Helper charged me their 100% cancelation fee for unloading, despite the fact that the ABF delivery was late and I notified the company of this. ABF is a reputable firm, and I hope they review their use of Hire a Helper, because their sloppy subcontractors and poor service do damage to ABFs reputation.

They did a wonderful job, did everything I asked them to do, were careful with the furniture, and emptying the U-Haul trailer took less time than expected. Altogether, I have no complaints about the service I received from this moving company.
The drawback to hiring this company is that they are very expensive-----more than double what I paid in Portland, Oregon, for the same service. Other vendors are much less expensive.

They worked at great speed, while it was very hot outside. They asked it they could take a break and stopped the clock during that time. They helped installing washing machine and dryer and even got us a new hose, since the old one broke during transit (not their fault). Friendly people, careful with our stuff. Would recommend.
