Good kids. Probably should bring tools for assembly (power drill) and maybe some plastic to protect carpet during move.

The guys were so great! They worked around our little kids & baby napping all while unloading a not so well loaded container. Couldn’t have asked for nicer guys and would absolutely recommend them in the future!

We requested two movers, one of which arrived late. For a 26’ truck, we had three dozen (36) moving pads and they only used two pads total. As a result, several of our items were damaged or completely broken. To top it off, the loading began quickly and slowed with about an hour left. They went over the allotted time and so we were charger an additional hour.

They did a great job! They were quick, helpful, and answered all my questions!

They were great. Arrived on time and finished loading POD in the 2 hour window. Tony was a workhorse and I asked if he could come to California to unload the POD
Orlan H
Exceeded expectations. Filled the container quickly, all while being careful to only grab what we wanted them to, and also adapting really well when we found something else for them to pack.

They were a little late on their arrival, but when they got there, they got the work done, quickly and efficiently. Karson and Brian gave it 100%. We had a couple of difficult things to move and they worked out the issues like pros. I would use them again and recommend them to friends.

I struggled with this rating- OK seems fair because until we received our items we thought they were great. It was only after they were delivered that we discovered the issues outlined below.
We chose Big Boy Movers because they had good reviews and claim to be professionals who "know how to load a truck so your possessions actually make it to the final destination without damage". I am sad to say they did not live up to that promise for us.
First, let me say that all four of the employees were very pleasant. They worked hard and were friendly and respectful. They didn't seem to have the right equipment. For example, no hand truck with them so they mostly moved our boxes 1-2 at a time which took a bit longer. They did have an appliance dolly which they used just to move our safe and washer/dryer. Three of our four helpers showed up on time although we did pay for the full time for all four + an extra hour. One (Andy I think) showed up later and seemed to be in charge.
Throughout the process, I questioned how things were being stacked, concerned that they needed to stay in place for a 1600-mile trip in the trailer they were loading. I provided rope and ratchet straps (in addition to what was already on the trailer) and showed Andy the adjustable bars available at the top of the trailer. He seemed very happy about the straps and assured me everything would be tied down properly to avoid shifting as much as possible. When they had completed the job, he assured my husband it had been, even showing us a bunch of metal bars they were attaching at the end of the truck. He told us that the metal bars were also placed in a couple of different places throughout to keep boxes and such in place. We were busy and unable to watch the entire loading process so we took his word for it.
It was very disappointing to find that to be untrue when we opened the trailer and started unloading. There was not one metal bar, rope, or strap anywhere to be found. Instead, we found crushed boxes, leaning towers of boxes, and fallen items. It was difficult in places to unload without something crashing down. Most of our heaviest boxes ended up on top of our lighter boxes (many marked fragile). About 30% of our boxes and plastic storage containers are crushed and 2 of the 6 pieces of furniture we chose to take were demolished during the move. Not sure what kind of additional damage we'll find as we finish unpacking but it stinks to hold our breath in anticipation every time we open a box.
I know things can happen that are out of their control, but I expect individuals we hire for a service to meet their commitments and do their very best. Take professional care and load them properly. Use the tie-downs and bars. Don't stack heavy boxes on top of light boxes. I think our items would have faired quite a bit better and you'd have a satisfied customer.
Even more important is being truthful. Lying to appease a customer, which is what I assume happened here, is not a good strategy.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone, especially if they have a large number of items or need to move a long distance.

Get To Know Us
What can a customer expect after booking with you?
The customer can expect to receive a text confirming the date and time of the job. Through this communication they can also add any additional information that might be helpful such as: heavy items, long walks, specialty items, parking arrangements, etc.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The movers will be on-site within the arrival window given. They will then do a walkthrough of the premises in order to strategize best practices for your individual relocation. They will then go over paperwork and begin the move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Any prep the customer does on their end will quicken the move saving the movers time and, in effect, the customer money. Prep may include: breaking down beds, emptying drawers, clearing a walkway throughout the house, etc. Of course if these things are not done before hand, the workers will willingly do them when they arrive.
What types of moves have you handled?
After so many years in the industry there is nothing we haven't seen. We've done something so small as moving a couple of pieces of furniture to another room to relocating five thousand pound printing presses across town. We've relocated customers from California to Maine and everywhere in between. We can provide packing materials, packing services, loading services, transportation, unloading services, and unpacking services. In short there's nothing we can't do in this industry.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The bet part of the job is seeing the relief in the customers' faces when they see that they don't have to move anything or stress about someone else moving their possessions. it always makes me smile when they visibly relax. Moving doesn't have to be stressful.
What training do you provide your crew members?
The onboarding process for our movers is extensive. Probably the part I like the best about our company is that 100% of our workers are referrals from workers we already have. That means the guys we hire are already vetted by our own employees who would never want to work with someone unreliable or lazy. In fact when we interview a person we already know what kind of work ethic and character he or she has after talking to the person that referred the potential worker. Our workers are as good as it gets.
