I called and duscussed our move twice with the scheduler for A-1 movers and despite my request for dollies and description of the long (very long) walk from the POD to the apartment (the other end of a mill) and the contents of the POD - a 16 foot POD with lots of books- he sent us a team without dollies. Not only were they told it was one bedroom apartment, but they were not informed about the hallway. It shows very little concern by management for their team. The move went 1 hour over the scheduled 3 hours, (it took four men three hours to wrap and load the truck). and it would have been longer had it not been for a kind neighbor who loaned us two dollies. As It was they left without any furniture assembly. The movers themselves were good and efficient but as the time wore on, frustrated and tired.

The three guys were great! In their own words they were 'wicked neat!' They were late, but called to explain and it actually worked out for the best since my apartment had not been cleaned by the previous tenants. The movers unloaded my 16' PODS container and were attentive to where the items needed to end up and they treated my belongings with great care. I did not realize until after the fact that they conscientiously stacked things no higher than three boxes so that I could easily access things to unpack. I had requested ahead of time that the team please not ask my dad to lift anything heavy and they treated this with good humor and teased him in a way that was really supportive and kind rather than dismissive; I was surprised and really pleased by that level of courtesy. I'd recommend them to anyone in the greater Boston area and will definitely call them first if I move again. They finished way before the 2hr mark because they were so attentive and efficient.

A-1 Movers were very flexible and helpful after U-Haul made my move a little more stressful! U-Haul forced me to be 30 minutes late to our move, but A-1 Movers were extremely fast at loading and unloading the truck so we stayed with in our allotted time. A-1 Movers were also extremely helpful when my couch almost didn't fit through our door frame! Great music choices too! This is the second time I have used this company, and I will continue using them in the future.

From the planning to being flexible with our timing to working really hard to get everything safely into our apartment within the 2 hours - they were fabulous. Highly recommend. I hope not to need them any time soon, but I'd definitely call A-1 again, and have recommended to our friends.

I cannot say enough about Curtis and his crew, I was so happy with the service they provided. They arrived right when we expected and it was like a machine, they were so efficient getting things out and helping to pack up a few last items. We needed an entire 3 bedroom house, basement, and garage packed into storage units and they did an amazing job using the space. They were careful with our stuff and everything was wrapped and protected like we asked. They were good guys who were pleasant, fun to talk to, respectful, and understood how busy and stressful moving is, and did everything they could to help. We look forward to having them move our things into our new home next month.

Curtis and his crew did a wonderful job moving my things from a POD to a location a few miles away. They arrived on time and with all of the materials and tools needed to complete my move to a 2nd-floor condo. The guys worked very quickly, but with care, to get everything in place. My two oversized oriental carpets and antique cabinets were placed in just the right spots. My "beast" (300 lbs) of a dresser also made it safely into the house. The guys were so nice, personable and helpful that I will be referring them to everyone I know. It was a fabulous moving experience and I would definitely use them again.

we always call on the day of the move , my crew comes in full uniform ,with shrink wrap ,dollies , and tools , professional, caring , polite and willing to help in anyway , we start by padding and shrink wrapping all of your furniture and making sure floors and walls are protected , and the we strategically pack everything into your pod or truck with great care and precision , making sure in the process your are completely comfortable and satisfied with our work
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
all you needd to do is make sure everything is in boxes , leave the rest to us , we will take care of the rest . our job is to make your move as easy and stress free as possible
What types of moves have you handled?
we had handled all types of moves , big ,small , we also do commercial moves , we handle unloading of 53ft trucks at Renewal by Anderson window company every week and have for the past 5 years
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
meeting new people , being able to help people and making them happy , we enjoy the personal touch we inflict on our customers ,
What training do you provide your crew members?
all of my men are trained with me personally for there first 3 months , so i can teach them the way we do things here at A-1 Movers , we are not like the rest , we put our heart and soul into every customer we move ,
