I hired 2 movers and at first only 1 showed up. They sent a replacement but by the time he arrived it was 45 minutes after the start time had ended. Since we were setting up for an event, time was of the essence. Both movers were on the slower side and not self motivated to keep going, it seemed like they were just running out the clock so they could leave without doing much work. I told the original person I spoke with after booking on hire-a-helper, that they would be moving equipment and setting up for an event from items stored on a semi, this message was not passed on to the actual movers so the first guy was expecting just to be loading a trailer and didn't seem happy when we found out what he was going to be doing. They were instructed on what we wanted them to do and some of it was done incorrectly so then someone else had to go back and fix their mistakes. In the end for the amount I pay and how much work they actually did, it wasn't worth the price. I had some friends that came in later to help and did more work then they did in less time.

They showed up on time and worked the full amount of time. They were knowledgeable on loading the truck (which doesn’t always happen), but also willing to do things my way and do it exactly the way I wanted. I had almost everything prepared and ‘staged’ for them, and we nearly loaded the whole truck in that amount of time. As someone who use to work for a moving company I was a little skeptic because you never know what kind of worker you’re going to get, would 100% use them again, they’re someone I would’ve wanted to work with.

Brit and Tyler did an excellent job moving us from a 2 bedroom apartment to a house. They were very efficient, and were always communicating if they needed clarification on anything, which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend to other customers.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
When a customer books with 5-Star Movers, they can expect a prompt phone call to go over the details of the move, and discuss what the best options are for the customer to make the move go as smoothly as possible.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The customer should expect a crew that moves their items quickly and efficiently, while also being lighthearted and able to joke around with them and have fun on the moving day.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The customer should prepare for moving day by making sure they have plenty of ratchet straps and blankets so our team can come in and make sure all of their items are packed as securely and safely as possible. If it is a larger apartment complex, we advise that they reserve a freight elevator for use during their move.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have done all types of moves from long distance full-service jobs to California, office moves, full PODs packs, and even just moving a couch around in a house. We can do it all!
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
My favorite part of being a mover is the variation in environment from day to day. Sometimes I could be working at a 8000 square foot mansion with a 6 man crew, other days I could be working at a studio apartment with one other person. Every day is truly different, and that's what makes it exciting!
What training do you provide your crew members?
Our crew members all know how to use basic tools for assembly and disassembly, they know how to use moving equipment such as dollies and shoulder straps to make the move smoother. Our experienced guys are very good at loading trucks, and show the new people how to do it so they can one day be a great loader as well. We also prioritize attention to detail and will miss out on jobs sometimes rather than ever sending a crew we don't believe is 5-Star quality.
