Yesterday was a hard day. Our movers from Mindful Movers were friendly and efficient, but the job wasn’t done when they left.
My family and I have been going through quite a lot of change and loss, culminating in this move; and our packing/loading experience did cause us some frustration. I teach my kids that resistance builds muscle, but to build muscles well you have to train safely. While technically the job was fulfilled because the time was worked, the result and experience were incredibly negative.
We appreciate services rendered, but up until this packing and loading experience, we’ve heard “I’ve got you.” That’s what a relocating family needs to hear. It’s safety.
It’s disappointing to hear the clock out punch instead of, ‘we got this’. As I was looking for my medicine after the movers left, I couldn’t find the backpack I had put them and my laptop in. Then I found it, on the moving truck where I couldn’t get to it. We had to unpack half of the load so that I could get to my medication and laptop, and a simple question would have prevented it all.
As I slowly undid all of the work that we had just paid for, I began to see the carelessness of the loaders. It felt as if they took the physical representation of our chaotic lives and just tossed it at the truck and walked away.
I cried as I slowly peeled back the layers and realized how much damage would have been caused if we had been able to drive away. Chalk it up to being over-emotional, or late with meds if you want, but still being in the wrong city the day after moving day is a poor time to have to hold it all together.
After an unexpected hotel stay, and paying addition moving labor with gratuity I can report that we are safely at our destination, but a little more somber, a little more tired, and a little more spent than I had hoped and planned for.
Gratitude plays cousins to gratuity, and I’m sorry to report that for this company and crew, we are not grateful.

The guys that were sent out were very nice, but I do fell like they were a bit inexperienced. Nearing the end of their time left, I felt it was rushed and things were getting packed up rather quickly without taking time to evaluate the situation. There were certain things that were packed up that should have been left out or put to the side such as a bag of food supplies and backpack that had computers inside.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
We intend to contact within a hour of booking. In this call, we iron out all details beyond what’s listed in reservation notes as well as confirm our understanding of notes provided. Our goal is to be 100% on the same page as our customer.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
If you haven’t gotten contact the day before, you will get communication first thing in the morning with the lead for your job as well as their contact info. You can expect a crew that is on time lead by a supervisor that is thorough and personable in communicating all details needed to make for a successful, smooth move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
It's important to handle as many possible task as possible before the actual day. Whether that's getting everything already packed in boxes or picking up the truck the evening before or signing agreement and getting keys for storage unit or new complex in advance. Things such as this take away a large amount the stress that comes with moving day. Things happen and they cause delays or adjustments. As many adjustments that can be made before the day, the better the experience will be for you and your family.

We've done everything from local moves to long distance to furniture delivery to junk removal. As well as office moves, full packing service, and much more.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
We really enjoying reducing the stress that is moving by creating an experience that is unmatched.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We have an in-depth training manual we provide all new hires when they start. We use this as a foundation to point to as we translate the information onto the job sites until those work methods can be exemplified without attention.
