Movers Beware! Foday and crew of 2 showed up 2 hours later than they said. We spoke at least two times before the move date to detail what exactly we were moving. Foday showed up with one small hand truck and some straps. The items to be moved were multiple boxes, furniture for a 2- bedroom, exercise equipment, office equipment, and an upright piano. Luckily, my building had one dolly to use and I wrangled up two furniture moving dollies from maintenance (which ended up "missing" by the conclusion of this service).
Unprepared and also inexperienced. The swore up and down they've moved pianos, but didn't have the slightest clue what the were doing. They were insisting on rolling it on its small wheels (the legs and wheels on this piano are not made to be moved by just pushing it, it needs to have the legs removed and unit placed on a dolly). I spent over 30 minutes explaining this. Explaining how if they move it with the legs on it will snap. Eventually they said, "We'll do it however you want it, you're the customer." This clearly told me that never moved a piano.
They also were completely unorganized. The 3 of them would pack a dolly and all walk down together to load the truck. I have moved 10x now and everytime, one guy stays on the truck to organize, one guy loads dollies and the rest move the dollies back and forth to the truck. Foday and one of the movers would be on the truck organizing while the 3rd guy was just standing outside the truck, empty handed. I asked him, would you like to come back up with me to the apartment and fill the dolly while they work. He said no, he'll stay. Such a waste of time. In the end, I (a disabled person using a scooter with my 3 year old sitting with me) would load carts and make trips back and forth to the truck to move things along as well as my 70- year old mother moving things to the truck.
The job started at 11:30am (was set for 9am) and was supposed to be 4 hours (I had just done this exact move 1 year prior except with packing help and furniture assembly & it took 4 hours for 4 men). I expected maybe it take a little longer seeing it was 3 guys, I guessed 5 hours tops (no packing was needed at all, we wrapped EVERYTHING ourselves and no disassembling was needed). At 5:30pm I asked if it would be much longer because our loading dock would be closing at 7pm when the Concierge leaves. One of the movers said it shouldn't be much more than another hour. 3 hours passed, it's 8:30pm, the truck driver is there waiting to retrieve the truck and Concierge left (luckily providing me the access I need to finish this move) and these movers are no where near done. I argued with one of the guys and he ended up walking out.
A 4- hour job turned into 11 hours. 11 hours of stress, more money than expected, and more distrust in the world. I tell you, it is not worth it. Look elsewhere.

I highly recommend Kiki’s Movers. They weren't on time but communicated when they were planning to arrive. I don't hold this against them as we booked them the night prior! They were prepared and began work immediately. They offered advice on transport and even wrapped up some furniture. They were all patient and respectful of our property. We actually plan to use them in the next month.
