Got a call the day of the move asking if we could push back the arrival window by an hour (1-2p became 2-3p). Okay… we pushed all of our plans back for them (stated they were coming to austin from Killeen) as I am disabled and unable to lift much.
18 minutes into the new arrival window, I get a call that one of the movers got a flat tire. Honestly couldn’t tell at that point if I was being scammed; it felt like they never had the intent to show up considering the first call, but I tried to remain hopeful.
I waited for the mover to call me back after he hung up to call his boss…. 20-25 min went by so I texted him asking for an update.
He said he was standing on the side of the highway waiting for his ride, and gave me an updated ETA of 3:20pm. Fine, but we wanted to discuss a partial refund since we didn’t need as much help anymore. I texted him at 3:15 to ask for an updated ETA and he told me he was still on the side of the highway waiting for his ride. (!!)
By that point, we’d called for backup help and had already moved 75% of our home, so we asked them to cancel.
I’m shocked at the poor communication and the way they completely dropped the ball. I am so lucky I have some family in town, otherwise my partner would have had to move an entire home by himself. Extremely disappointing. I won’t be trusting them in the future and will recommend others to stay away.

The schedule time was not met. The base of my dining room table was ripped off. One mover arrived 45 minutes late, requiring the other mover to request a third helper to assist. Employer provided movers with no tools or dolly. The two African American gentlemen were extremely professional and worked hard. The Caucasian who was late did little work compared to the others. Also, their forms of payment were not available. Outside of the two African American movers, this was one of my worse moving experiences.
