Relocation with Lucas Moving & Home Services
Responsible for moving business/industrial and residential furniture; to or from contracted locations. Fast-paced industry involving continual body activity; lifting items weighing 50-400 lbs. Utilize machine operated equipment and standard moving tools assemble & disassemble furniture items based on customer needs. Securely transport contracted items avoiding any damage. Try to get in and out as quick as possible vs doing the job right. Hired Lucus Moving for moving services which included packing a pod. Initially was very nice, and hardworking. We definitely had to much to pack into the Pod so we communicated on what was important. From there everything was extremely rushed. We hired/paid for 2 hours. When they came I had most items infront of the POD as well as some of the pod already packed. They started to fill up the Pod asking priorty but was hurried and a now or never attitude. They completed in just about a hour, turned asked if we were good, said pull up your phone, and quickly walked me through how to sign off on order. From there they started to get in their car and said hang on we have you for 2 hours, they came back but seemed annoyed like why are we still here. Shortly after they left. At that point we were able to take a breath and noticed that several priorty items were not packed, and only half of the patio furniture was packed. I called them to come back and A they were not coming back after only leaving 5-10 minutes previous (still in 2 hour initial paid) and B if they were there would be 2 additional charges: 1 to unpack items, and 2 to place back in to which I said forget it. I recieved a call back from them a couple minutes later, not to come back, but with a customer service agent on the line working as a mediator to have things recorded I assume, and go back and forth with me. I asked what was the end point of the conversation, and stated was to see if we wanted to pay for additional services, I did not and ended the call.
We do what we always do ask for a tour of the property before starting work so we can see what we have to work with.
You showed myself an the movers all of your belongings. I informed you from the start of the job all your belongings won’t fit. You have a four bed room house an a basement an patio set with a 16ft container.
I asked you could you priorities your belongings so that we could get your priority items in first. Myself an the movers loaded an unloaded that container twice as you requested an also informed you that no matter how many time we do this all your items won’t fit.
My car was parked 20feet in front of the container before leaving I asked is there anything else you need for us to do you turned to your wife asked her did she need anything she said no you said you guys are good to go I walked you thru the invoice part of the process you signed off. We got in the vehicle drove down the street made a Turn beep at you guys we waved you guys waved we left.
You waited until we was half home to request we come back to unload an load that container one more time for free.
Your 36 miles from our base location. We informed you if you would like for us to come back you can place another order or add additional hours to your recent order due thats tolls gas Mileage an Time. You said you don’t want to pay it you just want us to provide you with free service
You choose to sabotage our reviews because we wouldn’t work for free.
Myself an the movers been on the front line day in an day out thru out this whole pandemic providing safe friendly professional great service to our customer everyday we make sure we create a safe work environment for ourselves/movers an the customer.
We did no wrong to you an we don’t deserve this distasteful review that you left. We would have rather gave you a refund. Business have already been slow due to the pandemic an now sabotage all out hard work an make business slower due to we won’t work for free

Lucas Movers were excellent. I made a move from Baltimore to Philadelphia in a 20’ Uhaul truck. I had hired movers in Baltimore, and these movers were terrible — spent much of the time on their phone with other customers, refused to use furniture pads, and moved only about half of what needed to be loaded into the truck. As a result, I had to reschedule Lucas Movers to very late in the evening — at the last minute — as I had to spend many hours packing what the first movers did not. But this team of movers was a completely different story. They were very professional, diving up labor between the three of them so that they were continuously moving items into the apartment. They placed boxes in the correct rooms, waited for me to finish assembling my bed frame to place the mattress on top of it for me, and even helped rearrange furniture pieces. They did all of this within the time I paid for. It was such a different experience from my movers earlier in the day. I would use them again for any move, I HIGHLY recommend them.
