I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but Oregon Trails made
our move an outstanding experience. They called to confirm our move once I booked it on Helpers. Austin and Mica arrived on time and were polite and professional. They placed our furniture where we needed it helped put the tables together and unwrapped the furniture. I would recommend Oregon Trails to anyone who needs help unpacking PODs or moving.

Matthew and Jacob from Oregon Trail Moving were awesome! They were on time, called to confirmed before arriving, and helped us unloaded a large POD container (16 footer that took us a week to pack ourselves) into a 2-story house within 2 hrs! They were very careful with our stuff, they even made sure not to stack heavy boxes to hide once inside, since we have 2 little ones, so that the boxes wouldn’t fall on them! HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys! A-Team for sure, thanks guys!

Our movers Jake and Cody were wonderful. Gracious, fast, smart, strong. They did everything we needed and managed to squeeze an L shaped kitchen bench out the front door. It wasn't easy but they persevered! We are so glad we chose Oregon Trail Moving.

Movers were in on time, started out great. As the time passed they got more and more careless. While they carefully wrapped old bookcases that I told them didn't need it they left our best furniture unwrapped, leaving several moving blankets unused. Some pieces were just tossed in the trailer on top of others.
We have Oriental rugs and they didn't seem to understand them. I had to tell them to take each rug individually. They rolled some, bagged some, and just threw other in the trailer. We had a couch cover, which the two helpers put on the couch before taking it outside. The team leader tore it off, slid the couch, on end, along the dirty trailer floor, and even put a footprint on it. Some things like garden tools the picked and chose from, leaving a pile of them in the back yard. They were, however, able to find and pack several random pieces of scrap wood and some of the shelves from the closets.
The team leader got progressively more cranky as the day wore on, almost to the point of belligerence.
Several pieces were damaged, but surprisingly enough nothing was destroyed.
I was told that Oregon Trails sent their best team. I shudder to think what the others must be like. This was definitely the worst experience we’ve had in several moves.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Customers will receive a follow up confirmation email upon booking. They will also receive a courtesy call the day before the move to confirm details and to inquire about any changes as is often the case with moving. Of course, at any time prior to your move you can contact Hire-A-Helper or speak with us directly with any changes or questions about your move. Friendly answers to questions are just a call away!
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Our crews will arrive approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled time of the move and they will be waiting on-site to meet with you. They will arrive with all the specified equipment needed to complete your job as discussed and arranged previously with our staff. For every job they arrive with Tools, Dollys, Heavy Liftings Straps, Floor Runners for protection, Shrink Wrap & Moving Blankets, Tie Down Straps and more. If specified they will bring a variety of other equipment for Pianos, Hot Tubs etc.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Small and fragile items should be wrapped and boxed. Labeling boxes for your identification as well as the movers is always helpful at the other end. If you can stack boxes and arrange them so the movers are able to get to them with the Dollys this will save time and money. Stacks should be chest high and allowance for the movers to get to them should be made. Clear pathways for the movers, secure pets, and practice social distancing when the movers are on-site.
What types of moves have you handled?
We do all types of moving; Local, Long Distance, Office & Industrial. We are a Labor Moving Service. We do not provide or drive trucks. We specialize in container moves i.e. PODS, ABF, U-Pack, U-Box, & Pack Rat. Our customers also rent and drive their own trucks as well as rental moving trucks i.e. U-Haul, Penske, Enterprise, Budget, etc.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
I am proud to be a native Oregonian. I was raised on a small cattle farm in Ashland. My Parents were full time teachers and farmers and showed me the fundamentals of hard work and perseverance. I thoroughly enjoy this business. From interacting with our customers to find solutions for their needs, and getting out and assisting our crews in the field. I look forward to meeting you and helping you along your way!
What training do you provide your crew members?
Safety is always #1 ! Every Oregon Trail Mover starts as a helper and follows experienced crew leads with after undergoing a rigorous training protocol process at our headquarters. Each crew member is first evaluated for their individual talents and abilities in order to assess where they may be utilized most effectively on our team whether that be packing and wrapping, detailed inventory with computer skills, or the ability to lift heavy weight repeatedly for hours on end.
