Sharing in hopes this helps someone else moving. The moving crew I had was very respectful, they were late but I was hoping for a great move despite that. I had primarily furniture only in the house, the majority of all of my boxes were ready to go in the garage and the moving truck was fifteen feet outside of the garage. I was beyond prepared. When they did start, there was quite a bit of time spent packing and then repacking, so felt like an efficiency issue. It took twice as long as estimated per the website. And that was with a friend who helped so much, basically was the third mover, and his perspective was that one of the movers was not really doing much and was chatty. Again, the nicest people so it put me in a hard position because I liked them as individuals. But double the time even with lots of communication about it (and again, a friend who helped)- that was a significant difference in terms of cost and I didn’t expect that. I was told by Movers of Sacramento that this was because of inaccurate estimating on Hire a Helper’s website, but they are still responsible for what a customer agrees to. I felt frustrated on the crew’s behalf that they weren’t given a realistic targeted amount of time to complete the job. And I felt frustrated that I, the customer was caught in the middle. That said, it did feel there was some inexperience and chattyness that really contributed to the problem.
Pros: they did pack things well. They were very respectful. Cons: Unpredictable with timing. I felt like I couldn’t relax the whole time they were there because they were not as driven as I expected. Overall would not recommend this company because it did not relieve the stress of my move, it added to it
