Movers arrived on time, but without requested equipment. Polite, but absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. Started moving items from container to where directed.
After 20 minutes, they took a 20 minute smoke break. Left cigarette butts in my yard.
Resumed unloading, and while moving a dresser, took the drawers out. Because the dresser is antique, there are no metal rails as part of the construction and they struggled to get them out back in - so they used brute force to shove the drawers in and caused damage to the dresser in several places (I discovered this several days later).
There was then a rain storm and they had to stop unloading. I came out to check that rain wasn’t entering my container and found one of the men standing inside my container, smoking next to my belongings, and watching the rain soak the things I had sitting in the garage. All of this happened in the 2 hours allocated.
I reached out to the moving company, provided pictures, was told the movers were subcontractors and they would get back to me. I received one text from the moving company two days later saying he’d call the next day. He has since disappeared, not responding to repeated texts or phone calls. I filed a claim with HireAHelper, and ended up receiving essentially a refund.
I could not, in good conscience, recommend this company to anyone who values their belongings.

Richard and Keith did a great job moving all of my stuff into my new apartment and assembling many pieces of furniture! I am very impressed with how thorough and quick these two were. Definitely would recommend!

We loved the individual they sent, the second person never showed up. I want the individual to get credit for a great job but the company promised to send additional help on two separate occasions that day. The total bill was reduced by not by half we had all of the additional fees even though we got half the service.

“Absolutely the Worst” would be a more suitable name.
Unfortunately, I am certain I’m not the first customer to coin that phrase.
They stood me up with a fully loaded 26 foot rental truck that was due back that same day.
They would not answer their phone, or return my voice mails.
I unloaded half of the truck myself as I waited for them, since I needed to get the truck out of the condo’s parking lot ASAP.
Hire-a-Helper finally gave up on them as well, at the end of the day, when they also couldn’t get a response from them, and they found a more reliable contractor to send to help me the following day.
If you want to unload by yourself, sure go ahead and hire “Absolutely the Beat (Worst)”.
